Why would the Jazz want a PG that can play right away? I doubt Walker is ever better than Devin Harris and he definitely isn't going to be better than him next year. Knight is young and has a ton to learn but I see no reason to believe he couldn't play 12-15 mpg as a back-up PG on a team that will fight for a playoff spot but not contend.

I agree. That is a position that the Jazz are fine with who is there for another year or possibly two. That kind of talk makes no sense.

The Jazz are scheduled to hold their first NBA Draft workout Sunday. Utah owns the Nos. 3 and 12 picks in the first round of the 2011 draft.

Utah is set to work out Norris Cole (Cleveland State), JaJaun Johnson (Purdue), Shelvin Mack (Butler), Markieff Morris (Kansas), Dallas Lauderdale (Ohio State) and Jeremy Tyler (Japan).

Morris is a possible lottery pick, and Tyler could go during the late first round.

Greg Miller was on KALL 700 for a long interview this afternoon. Not sure how many others listened to it. But he was more open on some topics than he has been in the past.

He was careful how he led into it, but then he said he was disappointed in Sloan for leaving in the middle of the season. He said it didn't think that was anything Sloan would ever do. He said the halftime dust up with Deron started with Sloan telling him to make sure to let everyone else know if Williams was going to change the plays in the middle of the possession. Miller said Williams said, "Okay, my fault. I'll fix it." And then i think Miller's quote was "it just escalated from there." Not sure what would have been the next step to make it escalate.

But then he said Sloan said right there that he was done, that he wasn't going back out to finish the 2nd half. Miller said that after the game when everyone was trying to talk Sloan into sticking around (and he emphasized again that all coaches and front office people in the building were telling him to stay) that Jerry just said his tank was empty and he was done. Miller said they made sure Jerry knew ownership would back him up, essentially saying they'd throw Deron under the bus before the coach, but Sloan still insisted he was done. Miller hasn't spoken with Sloan since his retirement.

He said they were finalizing the deal with Deron but before it even got approved by the NBA someone leaked the info and ESPN ran with it. Miller said he called Deron to let him know even before final approval came when Jazz officials told him they were certain it'd go through, but Deron had already viewed the announcement on the ESPN ticker.

He reviewed a previous quote about the place of the Jazz team under the Miller business umbrella by saying that if the Jazz were a Toyota dealership it would rate as the 4th most successful Toyota dealership. But he said of course the NBA team is much more high profile, requires more work, and brings more exposure (good and bad) than any other Miller family business entity.

Nothing new on the draft. Said his opinion is that they need to get bigger and to get shooting. Then he said in all the years he's watched KOC has listed the names out in the draft in the order that they'd be picked and "he's never missed one". Sure, Greg, we're all buying that one. That is why you were so prepared on the Borchardt pick.

I was nervous about the foot problems. But, at that number in the draft, I was fine with the risk. With that said, I also agree that Borch probably fudged the truth about his health.
