It Is easy to say the Jazz miss Matthews but let's be honest did anybody think that his ceiling was going to be much higher than what he gave last year? I mean, hindsight the Jazz match Portlands offer and bring him back no question. But I didn't see him putting up 18 a game.

    • Hayward struggling tonight attacking the hoop. But at least he is going at it hard. I'd rather see that than being passive.

      • At least Deron's playing well. Hustling back on D, hitting big shots. The ONLY face of the franchise for the next 420 days or so, ladies and gentlemen. Don't cover Frye, he'll miss.

It's clear at that point he was more talented than CJ and brought more to the table in regards to an all-aroudn game, but it was clearly a money move by the Jazz and that sucks. They jettisoned 3 players more talented than CJ in the span of a few months.....that doesn't bode well for the future.

          • Well if there's one thing that hasn't changed with the Sloan/Corbin change in guard....it's the Jazz's stubborn refusal to defend the 3 point line.

                They'll miss. Right?

                • Jazz getting absolutely boned with bs calls down the stretch. Horrible offensive foul thanks to a weak flop by Grant Hill and the refs swallowing their whistles on Saps drive.

At least the Jazz competed tonight.

So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Grant Hill definitely flopped but Milsap was not fouled. That guy plays like he just got a big NBA raise. Bitchy and soft. Shut up and play. You ever think you don't get calls cause you bitch all the time?

You are all a witness: years of playoff misses on the horizon. Jerry saw exactly what awaited him. I for one can't wait for the future. I sure like my favorite franchise selecting between 15 and 20 in a watered down draft each and every year. Even at 9 we select an overechieving D-leaguer.

Had that been on the other end, that would have been called. Was it a foul? Not sure, but IMO you give the offensive guy the benefit of the doubt in that situation.

Also, WTF was up with THREE carrying calls on Deron tonight? If you're going to enforce the rule, enforce it every damn time down the floor, because EVERYBODY carries the basketball. But to randomly call Deron for it three times tonight... very frustrating.

That no call under the basket at the end of the game was bogus. The jazz got screwed.

John Haddow is never going to post here with that kind of attitude.

As a service to the board, I could post what your donor level to the University should be based on years removed from graduation. I would also add the caveat that if you can't afford to donate at said levels, your degree from BYU has failed you. You know ... just until he gets here.

I agree. Jerry quit on the team because he could see that winning was not going to be easy and he didn't was to deal with any more crap.

That's fine. He earned that right.

The Jazz stink. But can't be too upset about a close loss on the road while missing essentially 3 starters.

But the Jazz are still who they have been for the past 4 years or so. Not much better. Not much worse. If this team were healthy--AK and Okur--they'd be just as good as they've been in any year during the past decade. Which is to say...about 4th best in the West.
