Do you plan on suffering through this all season long? why do this to yourself?

Not a fan of professional team sports. Where else in society can you get paid millions of dollars regardless of your performance (aside from also being a politician)? That's what's wrong with professional team sports. You get paid the same if you win or lose. You have one good season and you are guaranteed $M's for years thereafter.

Last Jazz players I enjoyed watching were stockton and malone. They played hurt and actually showed up to every game.

Malone definitely showed up in Game 6. If he weren't there and if not for his failing to protect the ball, MJ wouldn't have been able to grab it, dribble up the court, and hit the game winner.

they will be awesome the next year with 2 rookies starting. Most teams that start multiple rookies do very well.

Here is my question with that. Can anyone give me a legit reason why Knicks fans are spending any time or effort entertaining this "LBJ to NYC" crap?

What possible reason does LBJ have to go to NYC? Money isn't even a valid reason. Nike already owns him, he will get the max wherever he goes, and he already endorses products globally. He is one of the most high-profile athletes on the planet.

There is literally nothing to gain by going to NYC. I just don't get why this topic has been such a discussion point in the media for the past couple of years.

The Clippers are, oddly enough, one of the few teams in the league that will have both cap space and some building blocks (Griffin, Eric Gordon). Chicago's another one, which is why they didn't care for resigning with Ben Gordon. I can't see LeBron going to the Clips, but Chicago is an intriguing prospect. He could play with Derrick Rose and Deng, although I don't see how Deng and LeBron would fit together. Wade wouldn't fit in at all, IMO, but Bosh would work the best in Chicago.

And if any of these guys (LeBron, Wade, Bosh, etc) really wants to be part of a dynasty, they'd go to Oklahoma City and join up with Durant, Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook. Too bad this team's not still in Seattle, otherwise it would be a major player.

Donnie Walsh literally gutted the Knicks for this offseason. They could potentially only have $20 million on the books but only have five guys on the roster come this offseason (and they're on the hook for Eddy Curry next season for $11 million so the four other players combined are earning about $9 million, lol).

You are right. King James can play anywhere... he could play in SLC for the Jazz! (But probably won't... see Rony Seikaly.) All things being equal, do you think LBJ would rather live in Cleveland for much of the year... or in NYC? The advantage of playing in NYC is living in NYC, the night life, and all that the city that never sleeps brings to the table.

I think I'd try and play for a team located in a state with no state income tax... saves a bit of cash on 41 home games at max NBA money I would think. Texas (Spurs, Mavs, Rockets), Washington (Sonics... doh!), Florida (Magic, Heat)... um, others?

Honestly, Cleveland. He is from there. He never went to college and his HS friends are all on his payroll. All his friends and fam are there, too.

I think most NBA players agree with me. Can you name the last worthwhile high profile free agent that chose the Knicks as a destination? Nobody wants to play there, even if you can go buy a hot dog and a soda at 3AM.

I wanted to add to my previous post that Miami is in the unique position of possibly keeping Wade and adding another one of the high profile free agents (Bosh). As Space Ghost mentioned, there's no state income tax in Florida. Also, Miami as a locale is pretty tough to beat.

As for the Texas teams, only Houston has the cap flexibility unless Richard Jefferson's early termination option kicks in, then the Spurs would also have some room.

Bill Simmons talks about what could have been for the Jazz.

In his book I do not have all of the details but he has a whole chapters on what ifs. I knew Gail Goodrich cost the Jazz Magic, but I had no idea that he cost them Moses Malone as well.

The Jazz could have had a team of Moses Malone, Karl Malone, Magic Johnson and I am sure Dominique would have been fine playing in Utah with Magic and Moses. SO Nique, Karl, Moses and Magic, I am guessing Utah gives those Celtics and Pistons teams a run for their money.
