It is a fairly silly question. The Lakers went to the Finals in the 90s, Jackson came to the Lakers in 1999. And in 1998, the Lakers were the first, and still only team to have 4 players on the All-Star team running the floor together at the same time (Shaq, Kobe, Eddie, Quick). The All-Star game was basically the Lakers vs the Eastern Conference. Sweet!

Yeah, that 98 team also had what would become the backbone of the Lakers first threepeat. Horry, Foxy, Fish, Kobe, and Shaq. Also, as you noted the Lakers really weren't bad during the 90's, but by Lakers standards they were. I think they only missed the playoffs that year that Magic coached. Jazz fans just like to remind us of this decade because of they got their two WC champs banners to hang during that time.

It's funny to think of some of the guys the Lakers brought in. In some ways they're like the Raiders. The trouble makers: Rodman, Blount, Ruben Patterson. The past their prime jouneymen: Fred Roberts!, Sam Bowie, Sleepy Perkins, Derek Harper.

Not to be Debbie Downer, but it's a bit concerning how jumper-centric the offense tends to get this year. It seems like the attempts from 6-8 ft and in are way down (though I haven't looked up the stats to see if that's reality or merely my perception). Also, it doesn't seem like fast break points have been nearly as easy to come by as in the last few years.

Jacob's post-Game 1 prediction might not be that far off when I see Fez consistently winning the coveted Subway Sub-of-the-game award with a stat line reminiscent of former Jazz greats Greg Foster and Rafa Araujo.

The Jazz need a consistent 2nd unit shooter in the worst way.

I'm sure Elias Sports Bureau will have something to say about the 3 Jazz comebacks in a row.

Not an exact answer to LiveCoug, but here you go:

Elias tells us the Jazz are the first team in the shot-clock era (since 1954-55) to win three consecutive games after trailing by 10 or more at the half in each one.

Utah's past two rallies have been from at least an 18-point deficit in the second half and have come on the road on back-to-back days. According to Elias, the last team to do this was the Portland Trail Blazers on April 7-8, 2009.

It's also the second time in Jazz history they have posted wins in Miami and Orlando on consecutive days; the last time they did that was on Dec. 19-20, 1996 -- they went on to lose in the NBA Finals that season.
