I'm sick and tired of you Laker fans making every professional basketball event about Gordon Hayward. Get a life!! Some of us Jazz fans have already forgotten about the Lakers.

All of 09-10, the Jazz only had 5+ shots between the rim and 10 feet in 5 games. Their max attempts in that range was 6. In 08-09, there wasn't a single game where they had more than 4 shots in that range.

So far this year, they've had 5 twice and average 3.6 attempts between what are classified as rim shots and > 10 feet.
I'm not sure what is classified as a shot at the rim, but it must extend out to 5 feet or so. Because those <10 feet attempt numbers seem awfully small. But it seems so far this year the Jazz are getting about the same number of looks from that range as in year's past.

All this time I've thought rim shot was something completely different.

What about shots at the rim? I was including those in my 8-feet-and-in classification.

So I totally hosed that first post. I was giving the average number of FGM from that range, instead of attempts. Here is how the Jazz shot chart has broken down, in terms of % of total FGA's, from the different ranges:

10-11 Season

At rim - 29.6%
<10 feet - 17.4%
10-15 feet - 9.6%
16-23 feet - 25.4%
3point - 18%

09-10 Season

At rim - 38.4%
< 10 feet - 9.7%
10-15 feet - 7.0%
16-23 feet - 26.9%
3point - 18.3%

08-09 Season

At rim - 34.5%
< 10 feet - 7.7%
10-15 feet - 7.1%
16-23 feet - 33.7%
3point - 16.9%
