The last time the Jazz had someone average more than 22 ppg was 2001-02, when the 38 year old Karl Malone averaged 22.4. Since then the season high is 21.1 by Boozer.

    Over/under on Deron's apg: 11.0

No Jazz guard has averaged 11+ apg since 95-96 when Stock was at 11.2. Can Bell and Miles replace the 3-point shooting? I do think Deron will be able to collect more assists off mid-range jumpers with this year's roster.

I'm going over on both, but just barely. I think Jefferson is a great fit for this scheme, following early career Malone's PF model more than Boozer's. He's motivated to be on a playoff team and to play with a great PG. I don't think Millsap's numbers increase as much as they have in the past when Boozer's gone out and he's been paired with Memo.

Deron is healthy and rested and I think he kills it this year. 19.2 ppg and 11.1 apg.

I think Jefferson is a great fit, but I am still not sure if he will go for over 20+ppg. I would not be surprised to see him around 19ppg and then see Milsap coming in around 17ppg. I

I think Deron averages 20ppg, but his assists will be closer to 10 a game. I am excited to see this team play. I really like a lineup of Jefferson, Milsap and AK in the front court.

I think Jefferson really excels in this system. The fact that he can get that quick little hook off so quickly and that he'll shoot it anywhere within 8 feet means he's going to get a ton of good looks close to the hoop. He averaged 21 and 23 on a team with no talent around him and that ranked 13th and 15th in pace. I think whether or not he goes over 21 will be dependent on what Deron does with his own scoring.

What a diss on the Northwest that he is rocking Laker tables in his house, no wonder the Sonics moved their franchise player doesn't even care about them.

Good to see Gary so animated about Stock. Though I've never been able to watch that guy talk without it driving me nuts.

But what was that math he broke out there? "He'd only take 8 shots, but he'd make 6 or 7 of them. So right there he's got 14 points. And then he'd go to the FT line 10 times and make 10 FT's. So what's that now? 14? 18? That's 18 points and 14 assists."

I wouldn't doubt that kind of math wizard would have Laker tables.

                • OK. I now love Gary Payton. I've always heard that he really respected him, but this was a pretty amazing statement.

                    • I thought he and Webber were great on NBA TV last year. Good analysis and those two would crack up about every 30 seconds. Entertaining.

I can't wait for this season.

                      Prediction time for the Jazz:

58-24, everyone will love Jeremy Evans by Christmas, and Fes will continue to be Fes.

                      Oh, and NBA CHAMPS!!!

Love the enthusiasm but drugs are a first class ticket to nowhere. BTW, Jeremy Evans won't see the court much at all, before Christmas anyway. He will be in the D-League showing off his triple jump. He'll get some time but minutes will be tough to come by. Fes, fortunately or unfortunately will get more minutes simply because it's now or never for him. Time is on their side with Evans.

I just emailed my friend that worked courtside for the Jazz for over 5 years. He said it was "how bout them Jazz."

I think I will walk to the Delta Center at lunch and confirm.

SALT LAKE CITY — You might not recognize Dan Roberts if he passed you on the street.

But put that street inside of EnergySolutions Arena, fill the place up with 19,911 loud fans and two NBA teams, look both ways and pass him while he's enthusiastically bellowing out "How 'bout this Jazz!?" and there's a good chance you'd recognize his rich baritone voice.

It's hard to miss when you are sitting in the arena. At least for me. Maybe your court side friend watches the game with headphones on listening to the radio broadcast?

                            • yeah I already came across that. but I doesnt sound like he says that so I am going to ask at the delta center.

Truthfully, this is all news to me. I always assumed he said, "Don't get excited, its just the Jazz."

Don't hate. Cro-Magnon has brought the length and that prominate brow to the SLC. We'll take 1 in the regular season and 2 in the playoffs and you can embroider that into your Lakers Championship banners.
