Lakers play in Utah over Thanksgiving weekend. I wont be there for that one. The Jazz can win that one, if they want. It will give the fanzz some false hope to build on through the holidays.

And somehow I don't see Gordon Hayward scoring 26 and winning at Staples while being covered by Kobe instead of Devin Ebanks.

I'll be front and center at the ESA but it doesn't mean I expect a miracle this season.

Do the Jazz have yellow alternate home jerseys this year? I hadn't seen them yet but I had someone insisting to me that they will wear them this year.

Talked to an advertising rep with the team. He doesn't have much contact with any of the employees that are involved in team personnel decisions, but he does meet with Randy Rigby often. Sounds like the front office is really expecting big things out of Millsap. This isn't news, but Rigby said Millsap was really affected by Boozer not being traded and Boozer playing the role of primary front court option even though his effort was so bad on defense. (In other words, he thinks Jerry Sloan and Raja Bell are liars).

They're not sure how Sap + Jefferson works out, but they believe Millsap will work harder than ever before and won't be as affected when Jefferson gets all the looks on offense because he likes Al and Jefferson appears willing to put in the work on defense.

Plus, with Okur out, he is going to get the minutes. It might be a different story if Sap weren't starting. I think players just want to be on the court. Most aren't concerned with the scoring and amount of touches as long as they are 1) on the court and 2) involved in the offense. Sap will get both for now.

I love Sap and I think he should have had more playing time but if his effort wasn't there when he was in, which I think at times it wasn't (or at least appeared not to be to me), than that's a problem.

Although, if getting rid of Boozer is the remedy than it matters not I guess.

I realize they play different positions but it would appear the Jazz have a lot of "tweeners" in the lane and if the other guys platooning at those positions play with a more defensive mindset I think Okur's lack thereof could cause some serious resentment on Milsap's part.

Memo has always asserted himself much more on the defensive end than Boozer. He just doesn't have the physical tools to be very good at it.

Please don't mistake ability for effort. Boozer has the ability to be a good defender, but had never tried much. His flashes of effort on D have revealed that he can do it, but he just doesn't want to.

Memo, on the other hand, isn't nearly the athlete Boozer is, but has found a way to be a slightly better defender. He tries on D, he's just not very agile or athletic.

In the 2006 WC playoffs, Memo disappeared offensively, but did an above-average job defending Yao and Duncan. Meanwhile, Boozer managed to make Luis Scola and Oh Boy Oberto! seem look like Hakeem and Mr. Robinson.
