  • Mitchell officially on the trading block. Don is the player they should have been trading in the first place, IMO. But I would be happy if they could land an Ayton or a Adebayo level player plus some first round picks.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

NY is the only team with the assets to trade for Don. They would have to part with precisely 4 first rounds for next year, which would be great for Utah-- and would win NY a few games this year, to be sure-- but would effectively fritter away all the terrible seasons of the last few years. But that would be right on brand for NY. Having said that, I don't expect Don to be traded.

      • I don't understand why you guys are sad to see Gobert go. He is pretty useless in the playoffs getting switched off the court. I am stunned that they got as much for him as they did.

He's a once-in-a-generation defender. His guards that couldn't defend the perimeter at the point of attack are to blame for him 'getting switched off the court.' Minneapolis is going to be a 1 or 2 seed this year.

              • He will send Don to the Knicks for 6 first round picks and some expiring contracts. The Knicks, as much as Don would look great in orange, blue, and white, would be absolutely demolished as an organization to give that much up. I think we have him here for the remainder of his contract tbh.

doesn't appear to be expiring contracts, rather young players with friendly contracts. guys like grimes, quickley, toppin and mcbride being thrown out there.

                    • Local radio guy - I forget which - was saying that Charlie Ward is the last time the Knicks signed one of their draft picks to a second contract. Let that sink in. Charlie freaking Ward.

                      • Knicks are in such deep shit lol. Now that the Mitchell negotiations have leaked, heads are going to roll if it doesn’t happen and they miss the playoffs again. Meanwhile there is zero pressure in Utah to move him. We move him for less than 3 young prospects and 6 first round picks there is a problem, but again... that’s New York’s problem. Danny Ainge has that city by the balls.

this is a nice haul. very nice. counting Agbaji, it's four first round picks, the two swaps, plus two very good young players.

The Gobert trade and Mitchell trade were both good trades. Now let's see what Ainge can do with the assets.

yep. it's all about how you draft at this point. 15 firsts in the next 7 years.
