Kings score 48 in the 2nd. [emoji15]Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostPortland is definitely phoning it in — maybe they prefer playing Utah to OKC. Seems like they would want to get into the 3 spot to avoid GSW in round 2 though.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Lol, those 4th quarters in the Nuggets and Blazers games. It's a joke that those two teams are the 2nd and 3rd seeds.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Only the second rookie in Jazz history to do it, too. Yeah, of course there's a huge asterisk on this one b/c of the whole circumstances of the game, but I like Grayson's game. Super athletic, high-effort kid with good defense, good offense, and signs of having improved throughout the year. I'm glad he's gotten a chance to prove himself. He'll be a valuable addition off the bench in these playoffs.Originally posted by falafel View PostGrayson with 40. Surprisingly athletic at times. When he keeps his head in the game on defense, which is usual now, his athleticism lets him make some very impressive plays.Originally posted by Commando View PostOnly the second rookie in Jazz history to do it, too. If I am being honest that's probably part of it, but when I wrote that I was thinking of that play a couple of games ago where he blocked the shot above the rim and then sprinted to the corner and made a good contest on the three point shooter who had been left open. His hops are surprising.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostBecause he’s a white dude named Grayson. I get it.

No I agree with the surprisingly athletic. I was sitting behind the bench at the Suns/Jazz game and dude looks like somebody from a stake bball tournament coming off the bench. Not particularly tall or jacked, but uh... blocking 6'7"+ NBA centers trying to dunk.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostBecause he’s a white dude named Grayson. I get it.

Allen broke out as a freshman in the Final Four (maybe even the championship game, if memory serves) and his dominance in that game was mostly out of sheer athleticism. Anybody who watched that or followed him at all in college would not be surprised by his athleticism. Same with pre-broken ankle GoHay (though he was probably still less athletic than Allen).Originally posted by Commando View PostNo I agree with the surprisingly athletic. I never watched him at Duke, but only remember his "highlights" on ESPN throwing temper tantrums/getting thrown out of games.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostAllen broke out as a freshman in the Final Four (maybe even the championship game, if memory serves) and his dominance in that game was mostly out of sheer athleticism. it was the championship game. he was a McD's all america, and iirc, won the dunk contest - or at least showed off the jumping ability there. didn't do a lot for the better part of his frosh season, but then had that breakout championship game where he looked like Ginobili getting to the hoop at will.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostAllen broke out as a freshman in the Final Four (maybe even the championship game, if memory serves) and his dominance in that game was mostly out of sheer athleticism.
