Jodie Meeks at 3 years 19M is a bargain. 16 ppg on 46% FGs and 40% 3pt at age 26. Those scoring/shooting numbers put him, if not one of, near top 5 SGs in the league.

Certainly a premium on shooters in today's NBA. And he did get to the line a bit more last year. But even after shooting 40% on 5.5 FGA/gm last year, his career 3pt% is just at 37%. Would you pay CJ Miles that after he hit 38% and 39% the last two years in Cleveland? Most everyone seemed surprised at the Meeks deal. I wouldn't consider him overpaid, because the market is going to show some players getting big money. But if Meeks is getting that and Bradley what he got, we shouldn't even sneeze at Hayward getting $12 M per average. He's going to get more than that.

      • Windhorst says Cavs preparing to make max offer to Gordon.

What is the max another team can offer him? 4 yrs is the cap on length, but is there also a difference in the per year increase that he can get from them vs. the Jazz?

This is my recollection as well. Pretty sure in those instances KOC told them to go out and see what the market would give them, and then come back when they had an offer in hand.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Read the speculation last night that they were prepared to make him a large offer. Guess I'd be surprised by that.

              Parsons at $11M for sure.

                Not Ariza.

I'd want to see Parsons play for Utah last year in Gordon's place before deciding. Can we make that happen?

Why not Ariza? 40% 3pt shooter and probably the best wing defender available in free agency.

Sounds like the amount is $63 M over 4 years. $16 M per. Yikes.

Also, I'd be interested to see G-time's place on that Cleveland team. No way Wiggins spends much time coming off the bench and Waiters may not take very kindly to being sent back to the bench in favor of Hayward. Ultimately, they'd probably have to trade Waiters.

That's the offer the Cavs are going to make? Shit, teams are nuts.

If reports are true. That is the max they can offer as I understand it. Yes, teams are effing crazy.

Yesterday when Cle's interested in Hayward was reported, some were saying Cle officials say they think Wiggins is a SG in the NBA. I do think Waiters would be sent off just because of the issues he's had with Kyrie. When one guy is making $90 M and he doesn't like the other guy, a move is usually made.

Irving, Wiggins, Hayward, T. Thompson, Varjeao, whatever you get for Waiters, Bennett, Zeller, Karasev, Jack

I guess Wiggins is athletic enough and good enough defensively, he could play the 2. If Hayward's shot doesn't improve much from last year, however, that lineup could be pretty bad beyond the arc.
