I don't get the Yoeli Childs at the 3 idea. Time will tell but I am skeptical a post player can move to the perimeter as the level of play increases.

Absolutely no possibility of this, at least as a frosh. If he gets quicker over time and develops more of an outside game, maybe. Rose is not going to put three big men on the floor together. No possibility.

I am in the camp that thinks your starters are Bryant, Emery, Haws, Davis and Mika. Off the bench BYU will bring Chatman, hopefully a SR grad transfer, Childs and Dastrup. Emergency needs filled by Beo, Hartsock, Kaufusi (come conference season) Aytes and Shaw.

LJ Rose would make a nice 6th man.

I don't get the Davis hate. Averaged 12/7.5 and had several double doubles. He's got a role, and he plays it well.

He's a turnover machine. He plays hard, but he plays out of his physical dimensions and skill set. I don't hate him, in fact I'm glad we have him. But I wish he played within himself better.

I think his issue is that he's a superstar against the San Diego's of the world but falls apart against guys his own height that are more athletic.

He is a 6'8 center of course he is playing out of his physical dimensions. He is vastly undersized and most of The time has someone bigger and stronger defending him and on the other end he is forced to guard a bunch of stretch 4s. That are quicker and more athletic. He has no true position but I think he would do well against 2nd team centers and power forwards.

Yes, the true heroes in all of this are certainly the hard-working Utah senators.

I think the following thoughts about Davis:

He misses too many layups.
He's a lousy free-throw shooter.
He needs to improve his passing out of the post (turnover machine as SJS said).
I wish we had somebody better.
I'm glad we have him, because it could be a lot worse.
