I listened to 1280 this morning on the way in. They said that today is the last day for everyone at 1280. It did sound like there may be some changes after the fact, so I don't know if they fire them all so that their contracts are void and then rehire them at more favorable deals or what. But why would you buy a station just to fire everyone?
Wouldn't it just be cheaper to boost your own stations radio frequency to reach more listeners than buying a rival to wipe them all out? What would stop them from just starting a new station somewhere else? Unless 1280 was hemorrhaging money, this just seems like a really wierd move on both sides.

Good call by Mr. Checketts.
I think that the Checketts/Monson show will be a train wreck. Those two are polar opposites in personality and have nothing in common. I just don't see those two getting along. Oh well.
