Andre Miller was not a better college basketball player than Jimmer Fredette and if you think so you are up in the night. Andre Miller was a better Facilitator but if you need to win a game you want Jimmer over Andre as he is more dangerous with the ball in his hands.

As a pro Miller has had a good career and done a lot more than I thought he would. If Jimmer had a similar career I would be very impressed.

The fact is like someone else said Andre was not even the best player on his own team.

As a former Ute fan, I rooted for the Utes all the way through their tourney runs. I was a bit saddened by the fact that I missed the 98 run due to being on a mission. I never thought that the Ute success had any bearing on my BYU fanhood.

It wasn't until I attended the 2001 Ute-BYU game at the Huntsman Center than I began to see that being a BYU and Ute fan were incompatible (too many Ute fans who were asses). But, I still rooted for Utah to beat Bama in 08.

This was my sugar bowl viewing experience (cheering for Utah):

          cointoss.
          game on.
          BAM!
          BAM!
          BAM!
          Game over.
          Halftime.

I prefered your initial analysis, and first post on CUF, on Miller.

To someone who didn't pay attention he wasn't the best player on the team but to people who followed the program they knew he was better than Van Horn. Ask arizona and UNC about his abilities. If Fredette was such a great closer why hasn't he seen past the second round yet?

Yep Miller has sure sucked for the Blazers. That conditioning test proved his career was over.

We SHOULD ask Arizona to compare the two!
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I agree Miller's game was more impressive, against a better team, and on a bigger stage.

Which 40+ point record-breaking game should we compare it to?

All you need is some thick glasses and a grape Nehi and you could be Floyd sitting on a bench outside his babrershop. It was ALWASY better back then.

I am a BYU fan. But I loved Miller's game. I guess it is fun to compare them, but the fact is they just dont bring the same things to the table. Miller was a greta college player and so is Jimmer. But here is what I know: Jimmer is likely the NPOY. The rest fo this stuff can be argued about, but that accomplishment is pretty hard to ignore.
                        PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Jimmer is a great college player and deserves player of the year. I think they only person in this thread putting down either player is junkie reducing Miller to just a facilitator which is pure bullshit.

One of Fredette's big games in the elite eight.

It's remarkable how one comment from CJ can send you into a frenzy. I don't know if I have ever seen a case where one poster can toy with another with such minimal effort.

Funk, I'm going to say this for the last time, and then I will never address this point with you.

This is complete and utter bullshit. You can name dozens of great college players who never made it past the second round through their junior seasons or never at all.

NCAA success is a crapshoot. Any game past the first round is pretty much a coin toss, outside the top two or three teams in the nation.

You went through a period where you had lady luck on your side. Be grateful for it, and stop overselling this bullshit point.

Either you are a small minded peanut brain, completely myopic with your red colored glasses or you are being an asshole to twist the knife into BYU fan's back (and hoping and praying luck bounces against BYU this year again and you can continue this bullshit).
