I didn't expect to beat SDSU in their gym. That is as good as I have ever seen a BYU team play.

We're deadly on offense with Jimmer opening things up, Davies in the middle, and all the shooters.

Our D looks good. The zone looks great with Charles rebounding out of that other forward position.

Best backcourt in the nation, with both as seniors going into the tournament. Experience at every position.

Ranked #3 with people talking about us as a 1 seed.

    I'm just giddy.

    Non stop.

College basketball is unique in that nobody cares what you did in the regular season, and so much of the post season is left up to chance. I'm trying not to have too high of expectations. But all I can say is this is a blast.
I don't buy the regular season crap. I was there when BYU beat SDSU in the Marriott Center. I was dialed in like a mongoose about to attack a cobra. I saw a fellow do "the humper." I saw Jimmer being lifted upon a rameumptum to be adored by minions of his people. I saw the SDSU benchwarmer almost fall out of his seat when Jimmer crossed Billy White over and stroked one from 28 feet. I was on my hands and knees screaming dagger when Chuckie Abwowwow hit that three late in Saturday's game. I have listened to Greg Wrubbells emissions from that shot and Jackson Emery's numerous times today. DON'T NOBODY TELL ME THE REGULAR SEASON DOESN'T COUNT!

Saying that if BYU flops postseason the flop will leave a sour taste in my mouth, but the fun I have had will still be fun I had.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

I wonder what my heart rate was during the last 6-7 minutes of the game on Saturday. It was pandemonium at our house. I almost peed on the rug.

The best part is that postseason success is hinged on seeding and location of postseason play. I think we are staring at a good seed in a good location. We aren't playing Xavier in Ohio this year. Staying out west is a huge advantage. Playing another Vermont type team in the first round is an advantage. I'm stoked because the work we are seeing now is making this team.

No, I totally agree. As far as the emotions of being a fan, absolutely the regular season is meaningful. I just mean 20 years from now, this team will be measured, for right or wrong, on how it does in the tourney.

Agreed, but for the carpet urination thing, but you're the expert on such matters.

It's still a long shot, but I'm having a fantasy about BYU making it to the Final Four. The General Priesthood Session is about to begin, and President Monsen convenes the meeting with the following: "Brethren.... Oh, what's the point?" From the Conference Center ceiling a huge screen descends. A >20K white-out crowd cheers as Jim Nantz appears on-screen and declares: "From Reliant Stadium in Houston, THIS is the Final Four...."

That might be enough to bring woot back to the fold. I think I felt the spirit while I was reading that.

I don't think we would have too much trouble with the Zags this year.

I'm quite sure I had a series of mini-strokes as my normally high blood pressure escalated to heretofore unknown levels. My dog ran for cover as our family room decibel level exceeded 120. I needed to go out for a 3 mile run after the game just to "decompress". Saturday was a great day.
Now, I want our fine young men to lay a beat down for the ages on the Lobos. It has been difficult feigning humility with all of the Lobo fans in my office and in my ward. I feel a need to be vindicated to the point that I can pound my chest and scream like Darrington Hobson did last year - except that I want to do it with more class

                        • I watched the game on Saturday with both kids asleep. As a result, I couldn't make lots of noise. I contented myself with punching the couch, and standing up to do this:

Yes indeed. We need to give them a beating, the likes of which they haven't seen since Tuco terrorized the ABQ.

The victory they had over us did nothing to impede our greatness this year. All saw it for what it was. UNM had its game of the year when we just were running low in the energy tank with all the hoopla that followed our first victory over SDSU. While it was frustrating to end the week after the greatness we saw in MC the previous Wednesday, it was a little bump on what is looking like a real long smooth road.

I guess it was payback for Justin Weidauer doing his best Jimmer Fredette impression to save Stevie See's first season in P-Town.
