On the other hand, if a kid is worried about losing a schollie, maybe we shouldn't be recruiting him....

Zylstra and Martineau both started as walk-ons so I wouldn't expect recruiting backlash.

This is based on his latest brackets. BYU is still a 2 seed in the West. I don't think there could be a more favorable bracket. BYU needs to stay the course.

Self-reliance is a core value of Mormonism.

Also, BYU and SDSU are now playing on a national stage to a national audience. Results going forward are less about conference titles and more about post-season positioning. You knew this at one point. Perhaps you have forgotten.

Why? I was watching the game and was pleased UNLV bungled it away at the end. BYU would prefer to be playing another top ten team in San Diego. Yes, I know this means a loss at SDSU will result in a second-place MWC finish rather than a shared crown, but a win still gives BYU an undisputed crown, and catapults BYU into a cinch two seed.

Terrible news? I don't think so. But if it is, how would you characterize the news out of SLC these days?
