What I don't understand is the about-face all of a sudden. He was staying with the team, and now he's leaving. That's a bit fishy right there. Is it something Boylen said or did? Or is it because Boylen is bringing in recruits that will cut into his playing time? Is he being a primadonna and flaking out or is there something wrong with the program?

I guess we'll know about this time next year.

Probably a writing on the wall thing. If he wasn't the main guy this year when he had every opportunity to be, he won't be next year. And, to be fair, Boylen has wanted the Utes to be able to run and they just flat out haven't, and I'm sure that frustrates Brown on some level.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I think the real issue is with Carlon. He might have some influences around him convincing him that he's better than he is as well. He's good but he's not above the program. Either way, now Boylen doesn't have to worry next year about pleasing anyone on this team. He'll start the best 5 or at least the 5 most suited to get the team going and won't have to feel like his players are dissatisfied with playing time. He might find that the only thing missing was team unity and a true point guard.

We know now that the cancer cell was Carlon, Cyphers and Hines. Hines also felt he shouldn't have to compete for the PG job and was pissed at the Utes for looking at JC point guards. All in all I think this is going to be a net positive for the Utes.

If any of you have ever played for a bad chemistry team, its a friggin miserable experience. But when it goes away the feeling is so good, the team makes a massive improvement. Right now I expect that with the Utes.

And if I'm wrong our coaching options will be Tommy Connor, Juddy and Donnie Daniels maybe. I think I'd go with Donnie.

Yeah wow that is some serious spin. Maybe he needs to change his tag to "Ari Fleischer understudy"

Let me guess Tiger cheating on his wife will actually end being better for his family because you really do not learn to appreciate something until it is almost lost. Elin will really appreciate Tiger more.

does anyone have any moderately reliable scoop on how 4 players transfer from this program? that is a very high number.

Also, did I understand the article correctly...this kid is a junior? So if he transfers, his only option is D2?

2 guys announcing on the same day makes it seem like a conspiracy, somewhat.

We just lost 6 players total and only have 4 coming in. BYU, New Mexico, SDSU, and UNLV are all going to be back and probably even better than they were last year. But we're going to be just fine now that the cancer is out of the locker room.

These are my thoughts/questions as well. He's a junior but is hitting the road. Really strange and not a good sign about the program and coach. And all those guys at the same time, as if someone opended the flood gates.

Isn't there some kind of penalty for so many players transferring from the program in such a short period of time?

If they had only waited until June 11.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

If he still has a redshirt, he can sit out a year and then play D1. I don't know if he has a redshirt left or not, though.

Who wants a kid that has only one year of eligibility left? Who wants a kid that makes this decision? This is a dumb, dumb move. Things must have been really bad (at least in his view).

Depends on the situation. BYU took Trent Whiting for only 1 year. Richard Chaney transfered after his Junior year(I don't want to look up where he went).

My guess is that he steps down to D-II to be able to play right away.

I think that was Justin Hawkins(and he would have had 2 years plus his redshirt)
