I don't remember anyone criticizing Biden for the EOs. Maybe there was someone. I expressed my distain for the process in general and the general way they are used.

I would love to see some limitations on what presidents are able to do with EOs.

Nobody here was doing that-- I just vaguely have seen some things on what remains of Conservative Twitter, etc. To the contrary of my previous attempted pith, the vast majority of Biden's EOs are proactive administrative things- not things just undoing what Trump did, other than trans military service, child separation, environmental issues, etc.

Trump just tried to overthrow our entire Constitution by nearly destroying the legislative branch of government through egging on a violent mob intent on murdering the vice president and any other member of Congress they could find. Only by the grace of God, IMO, did it not turn out to be a huge tragedy. Then he sat for HOURS doing nothing to stop it. Politically it's by far the worst thing any US president has ever done.

I've read that and heard that in several different places. I'm surprised you haven't. Not saying that you're not paying attention, I've just heard that many times. The crowd teeming into the capitol chanting "hang Mike Pence", the gallows erected outside the capitol, the idiots equipped with those plastic handcuff things...the visual of that is stunning in my mind. Maybe they weren't there to kill Mike Pence, but they weren't there to jump around, smear feces on the walls, and leave. They were out for blood.

I didn't add it to the list, but Fox had a story also saying the same thing -- at least on their website. Their website isn't great in terms of accuracy and fair coverage but it's way better than the TV channel. The people on the TV channel have been trying to talk about anything but January 6th since the riot happened.

You can argue and disagree with the analysis of the events on different sources, but what is most aggravating to me about Fox is how blatantly they distort by completely ignoring news that is too hard to spin in Trump's favor. That said, obviously I don't know that Fox is BFM's preferred source or if it's more that he mostly doesn't follow certain kinds of news like a lot of people don't. It's just not that hard to imagine a primarily Fox viewer would have totally missed a few key elements of the attack on the Capitol.

That is dumb. They need to try to primary him. No way in hell a democrat can get elected in Utah to the senate.

There's no way in hell that Steve Schmidt would ever get elected in Utah, regardless of what party he runs under. If Mike Lee is truly their top target (and I hope he is), this is a terrible strategy.

Since January 6 I've largely avoided news of the Capitol attack because I find the attack and the perpetrators to be nauseating. I'm like you, I think, except I followed it for a few days, but it was too much for me.

I see this as the lowest point in US history in my lifetime. I've thought about getting a picture framed of the Capitol in mayhem to put in my office as a remembrance of how bad things can get.

The office kept track of the topic and for/against of any call. People who send communications to politicians have an outsized impact. More than those who don't.

I also do it because, if I request a response back (which I always do), it forces them to etch their stance in writing. This is useful to send back if they contradict themselves later.

Not that any of this will change or affect what Lee does, but I'm curious if I'm the only middle aged dude to regularly do this.
