        How disingenuous is this:

Lee said there are instances in mixed martial arts, football, running and even roller derby where women have been injured or lost championships and scholarships because they were at a competitive disadvantage against biological males.

"This is not about being transphobic or having anything against transgender persons," he said. "This is a simple question of fairness and physical safety."
I had always thought that conservatives were against Federal intrusions into our lives, but now it's imperative that the Federal government get involved to preserve the sanctity of roller derby.

People can focus on multiple things at one time. This is an issue that will soon come to a head if more and more transgender women compete in women’s sports. I was an average 400m runner in high school (7th in district) but I’d be the Utah state women’s record holder several times over and would likely have had a scholarship to any college given my times.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Of course people can focus on multiple things at one time, but they can also only focus on a certain number of things at one time. Is this an issue that affects enough people in Utah that a United States senator representing the state of Utah needs to dedicate a portion of his valuable time to address the issue? I'm not sure I have a well thought out opinion on transgender women competing in roller derby, but Mike Lee saying that this is not about being transphobic is pure bullshit.

Calling someone transphobic because they believe that a biological male should not be allowed to compete in women's sports isn't helpful.

Be honest. Do you think Mike Lee is involved in this because he's concerned about the safety of sports participants or because he has an issue with transgender people?

Like it's unusual in this political climate, especially among Mike Lee's crowd to dislike trans people.

If speculation stopped any of us, there'd be no posts in the water cooler by anyone, you and I included.

It's hilarious that you're sticking to that, and I don't like David Berkowitz because he dislikes dogs.

WTF is your point? You can’t really be pretending like this deserves consideration at all right now.
