I've never been on a cruise before, and damned if I change that anytime soon. Except for Alaska, maybe.

No, not at all. I have a weak stomach and often get sick on bigger boats, but never had a problem. The boats are 19-ft aluminum Stabl-Craft with 2-4 people per boat (always just your own party - so it depends on how many people you want to bring). It is a protected inlet so the waves are always pretty tame. You might get some small waves from wind, but none of the big rollers like you get in the open ocean.

Oh don't worry. My first Alaska trip will be something like this. I've got my retirement years to contemplate an Alaskan cruise.

I have never been sea sick but I have never been on the open ocean without taking Bonine. I never risk it, and it always works. Either that or I have the sea legs of pirate from the 1700s.

I had always thought that if you make up your mind that you're not going to get sea sick you can avoid it. Then on one cruise I found out that my mind wasn't strong enough to overcome the motions of the ship. Bonine fixed that issue.

I get sea sick easily but I never have issues as long as I can see something stationary in the water. I once went deep sea fishing and threw up three times when we fished along a reef where I couldn’t see anything in the water. Then we moved to fish around an old abandoned oil rig and I felt fine because I could see the rig which was stationary. As long as I’m close to shore and can see the shore I don’t get sick, kind of like in a car as long as I look at the road I don’t get sick.

I loved my Alaskan cruise. I think I would love a Norwegian or Antarctic cruise. I'm done with Caribbean cruises though.
