Any chance of a hybrid school model starting in Bend has been delayed for at least 7 weeks. All online until then. The metrics for returning to school have been published. If we meet them after the first 7 weeks, then we see. Like FS’s wife, Mrs. NWC works in special ed. She doesn’t know if she’ll be employed for online help.

This was a quick decision after a summer of discussion. I wonder if the recent outbreak at a camp in Georgia is scaring school districts.

Casualty of COVID (Expected it but still sucks..):


Governor Dewine issues Executive Order for Athletics today. Essentially closing the door on contact sports (This includes, Football, Soccer, Basketball, Field Hockey, rugby, lacrosse, wrestling, hockey, boxing , futsal and martial arts) from having a season.

How OSHAA responds and if they decide to move these sports to the spring will be the only way to make sure a season happens.


Upon reading this (Section 10), I cannot fathom any HS will want to enforce this and would rather throw in the towel or wait till this order is terminated, which is highly unlikely as it states it is in effect until the Governor removes the State of Emergency.

Agree that everywhere is going to get their turn. Less populated places will typically be last. When you see a state start to have a second wave, it would be good to know if the cases are coming from an area that wasn't hit or hit lightly if the first wave. To me, that wouldn't be a second wave.

The country that I world like to know what is happening in is Iran. They have what appears to be a second wave that is worse than the first wave.

Coronavirus: Iran cover-up of deaths revealed by data leak

The number of deaths from coronavirus in Iran is nearly triple what Iran's government claims, a BBC Persian service investigation has found.

The government's own records appear to show almost 42,000 people died with Covid-19 symptoms up to 20 July, versus 14,405 reported by its health ministry.

The number of people known to be infected is also almost double official figures: 451,024 as opposed to 278,827.

Iran has been one of the worst-hit countries outside China.

In recent weeks, it has suffered a second steep rise in the number of cases.
