I assume DBstr used the acronym referring to mainstream media based on the context. My bad for assuming.

I also assumed “The Times” refers to the NT Times. But based on David Vance’s tweet, he was probably referring to the UK’s Sunday Times. Still, a quick google search showed the NY Times has posted articles about the Iran protests almost daily.

BTW, that Vance character’s twitter feed if full of MAGA shit, including some vile stuff like this

Yikes. Thank you. Would not use such a person if I was fully aware of post like that. I agree with the statement. My main point is still valid in the sense this is falling away and has to be given the level of attention it needs on a Global scale from the media and leaders. A complete missed opportunity to actually help a nation in true need. When the numbers are this large, surpassing any loss of life during the Gaza conflict in two weeks. You think that would be news worthy. The systemic shutdown of all ability for the people of Iran to post and share what is happen is pure evil and a disgusting and obvious method to shut out the world from what they were doing. But go ahead, mock the post as it just adds to the dismissive nature I am pointing out as many of your rather focus on the post and the content rather than the atrocities have taken place. Exhibit A to how it has been passed even here.

        • The impact of Starlink has in Iran. The idea that over 90-million people have been shutout of Internet access and to disseminate information is crazy.

We don't help nations in need anymore. America First, right?

            • Talking about nations in need, we absolutely betrayed Ukraine in their darkest hour. It's not like we have a reputation to uphold.
Even intervening in Venezuela very came with a colonizer or overseer vibe.

This is what American Nationalism looks like. It's an absurd childlike and wild like ineffective approach to the world.

                • Also, if you think that the general media hasn't or isn't covering the deaths in Iran, check Bloomberg, Fox, NY Post, Al Jazeera, PBS, Reuters, BBC. They have all covered it.

It’s there but sometimes you have to scroll for it. Lots of newsworthy events related to the good ol’ US of A these days using the ink on the printing presses.

                      • This makes my blood boil knowing the people of Iran had hope by the fake words of Trump to help the people of Iran. His words which were heard in Iran most likely caused more death. How many more times will the people of Iran plead for help now. Why risk it knowing trump is full of shit..

"The protesters were hopeful," she said. "You could see fear on everyone's faces. We were afraid to pass in front of the security forces and come closer together," she said.

"We thought even if we get killed, it would be a reason for Trump to act faster."

She also expressed anger at international media reports suggesting that Iranians and the country's political opposition was not united.

"Iranians have shown what they want in the streets and paid a high price for it."
She said she learned from a source that doctors at Feiz eye hospital in Isfahan had carried out around 300 surgical procedures to remove the eyes of patients with birdshot-related facial injuries.

"Every time you go out into the streets, you see random people with eye patches," Parnia's friends told her.

According to several health workers who spoke to the BBC, hospitals are monitored and controlled by security forces, and people with gunshot wounds in Isfahan are being arrested.

"Many of the injured are developing infections. Some doctors are referring them to surgeons who can treat them in private clinics," Parnia's cited her friends as saying.

Iran Protestors Abandoned by the West?

                        • Toll in Iran's protest crackdown reaches at least 5,002 dead as Trump says US 'armada' approaching

The challenge in getting information out of Iran persists due to authorities cutting off access to the internet on Jan. 8, even as tensions rise between the United States and Iran as an American aircraft carrier group moves closer to the Middle East — a force U.S. President Donald Trump likened to an “armada” in comments to journalists late Thursday. The U.S. military meanwhile has moved more military assets toward the Mideast, including the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and associated warships traveling with it from the South China Sea.

A U.S. Navy official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss military movements, said Thursday that the Lincoln strike group is currently in the Indian Ocean.

Trump said Thursday aboard Air Force One that the U.S. is moving the ships toward Iran “just in case” he wants to take action.

“We have a massive fleet heading in that direction and maybe we won’t have to use it,” Trump said.

Trump also mentioned the multiple rounds of talks American officials had with Iran over its nuclear program prior to Israel launching a 12-day war against the Islamic Republic in June, which saw U.S. warplanes bomb Iranian nuclear sites. He threatened Iran with military action that would make earlier U.S. strikes against its uranium enrichment sites “look like peanuts.”

Not saying I don’t believe it, but it pretty remarkable for her mother to be shot 17 days ago and be buried in what looks like an engraved marble vault, in a country in turmoil.

I’m not sure you could get a gravestone engraved that quickly around here.
