  • Trump traffics masses of people to a foreign slave labor prison. In the process, Trump traffics someone that shouldn't have been trafficked to El Salvador because he A) wasn't a gang member and B) had protected legal status here anyway preventing him from being removed to EL SALVAFREAKINGDOR. Now Trump claims that US courts lacks the authority to order his return. Totally cool, and totally normal.

    • Update on Trump's approval rating as of today --

Nate Silver's site has him at 2.5 points underwater (49.7 disapprove, 47.2 approve).

I am shocked it isn't worse.

Let's see how "liberation day" affects polling.

It did take eight months for Biden's average approval rating to go underwater, which coincided with the disastrous Afghanistan pullout. The trend is clearly downward though and I can see dropping considerably more pretty fast if the economy gets bad.

The official "Oh well!" response from the WH:

The Trump administration now admits that Mr. Abrego Garcia’s removal was an “administrative error.” Moreover, Justice Department lawyers said in court papers that there was little they could do get him back from El Salvador, and have urged the judge overseeing the case to reject his family’s petition to bring him home, arguing that the White House cannot force the Salvadoran government to release him and that U.S. federal courts have no jurisdiction to order his release.
Isn't this a perfect time for supreme executive power Trump to pick up the phone to whoever's in charge in El Salvador and demand him back? Like he skirts laws all the time with phone calls. What's another one to free an innocent man?
"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."
"You are an intemperate, unscientific poster who makes light of very serious matters.”

                Man, that's awful.

But we're not supposed to care because it's a foreigner.

                • The Hillbilly is out on Twitter lying up a storm about this case. He is an awful person.
                  Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

But Neo Nazis and white supremacists get it. This is a foreigner, so take any way necessary to get him the hell out.

Vance is pretty good at lying in the face of black and white evidence. That is how he got to where he is.

So true. During the that whole Haitian eating cats and dogs episode, he acknowledge lying about it in order to raise understanding about the overall immigration issue. He has no soul and is the worst of humans.

I agree that lying to make political points, especially when admitting to it afterwards and trying to justify your actions, is deplorable. However, if you do not equally condemn both sides when they do it, you are not serious about political ethics. Not speaking directly to you MBN, just making a point because many of those who are condemning Vance, celebrated Harry Reid's comment justifying his lies about Romney. (First example I could think of) And in like manner, many who condemned Reid for his shennanigans, are celebrating Vance.

I wish that a politician lying was an automatic disqualifier, but then there would be nobody to vote for.

Of the four President/VP candidates in the 2024 cycle, Vance was by far the most talented. Time will tell if he will use those powers for good or for evil-- but it is certain that he will use them for Vance.
