That’s not too surprising. Some of the most racist people I know genuinely don’t think they are racist.Originally posted by BlueK View PostIt's also depressing that a significant portion of his fanbase can read that and not think there is anything sexist or racist in it."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? but, like, all this shit was there for those people to pass judgment on in 2016 already. the "grab her by the pussy" tape was what, a month old on 11/8/16? the people that matter aren't swayed by his moral failings.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostTrue. But I'm not thinking about the 30-35% of the population that want djt on the Mount Rushmore. I'm thinking more about those people in the middle that took a flyer on djt four years ago and 1) are still leaning that way but impressionable and 2) those that have moved away from djt but might still be coaxed back because they fear Biden might actually hurt God.Te Occidere Possunt Sed Te Edere Non Possunt Nefas Est.

Perhaps their Hillary Hate outweighed that. Plus, they might have thought, "Well, that was years ago and let's see how this goes." They seen how this has gone.Originally posted by old_gregg View Postbut, like, all this shit was there for those people to pass judgment on in 2016 already. the "grab her by the pussy" tape was what, a month old on 11/8/16? the people that matter aren't swayed by his moral failings.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

i admire your optimism but you're giving these people too much credit. bunch of bottom of the barrel, barely literate dipshits who, real talk, should not be allowed to procreate or operate machinery bigger than a moped.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostPerhaps their Hillary Hate outweighed that. Last election, the dislike of Hillary kept a lot of Dem voters home and got a lot of GOP voters to the polls. Neither really motivated by who they were voting FOR as much as who they were voting AGAINST.
This election the fact that many Dems hate Trump more than they disliked Hillary could motivate them to vote. Meanwhile, it's the GOP who has a candidate that will bleed some voters. There's no doubt that Dems hate Trump more than the GOP dislikes Biden. Either way - we are again having an election where the majority of the electorate is motivated by who they are voting AGAINST more than who they are voting FOR.
This isn't the way elections are supposed to work. We're supposed to be choosing between leaders with a vision as to what our country can become and deciding which approach and policies make the most sense to us. Not between two old white perverts and their seconds, who everyone hopes remain seconds in spite of how bad the primary candidate is.

GOP voters were/are tired of losing the moral battles that they thought they had locked down years ago. They cast their lot with the guy who has no moral compass, just because he punches back. When culture wars are all you have left, you support the one who fights them, even though he is morally bankrupt.Originally posted by old_gregg View Postbut, like, all this shit was there for those people to pass judgment on in 2016 already. the "grab her by the pussy" tape was what, a month old on 11/8/16? the people that matter aren't swayed by his moral failings.

Absolutely. So many friends and neighbors are big Trump supporters based solely on his stand on abortion. I cannot help but think Trump has availed himself of this particular freedom more than once in his life, but they overlook all his personal faults because he commits to a cause that will never, ever be reversed. Never (unless we can find a technical solution). So his commitment to abortion is window dressing and based on this window dressing, they overlook some pretty egregious sins. Whereas a decent man like Romney gets pilloried because he is enough of a realist to acknowledge that abortion is a battleground that has already been conceded.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostGOP voters were/are tired of losing the moral battles that they thought they had locked down years ago.
