President Trump: Making America Great Again...

Not only that- there is evidence that he purposely moved boxes and boxes of those documents to Florida on his way out and was aggressively hiding them from the U.S. government when they asked for them. Think of that-- there were enough missing that they actually noticed. Why did he want them? His bullshit story that they were just folders that had 'top secret' on them that he kept as a 'cool keepsake' is pretty insulting. I'll be curious to find out what this investigation unearths. Trump is gambling that he gets elected president before that happens so he can squash it. What a douche.Originally posted by BlueK View Post
Were they? Mar a Lago is pretty well known for attracting foreign officials, agents, and spies. Just pay the money and you're in. It's a club. I'm going to assume some might know how to pick locks too."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

I suspect every living person who has served in any governmental position involving state secrets is currently going their homes, garages, golf courses, whatever, searching for docs. I wonder how many successful searches will result in the wrongful (but secretive) destruction of their finds. If nothing else, the current discoveries are an alarming revelation about the sieve-like security our government apparently provides for its confidential information.

Sure, the physical security is sieve-like. Anyone can walk out the door with classified docs in their pockets, backpacks, purses, manbags, etc. Enterprising people can easily figure how to put stuff on electronic media and walk out the door. The deterrent is legal action if one is passing the info to uncleared people or foreign governments. Another is deterrent losing one's clearances if one is sloppy, which is a job killer. But there are very limited reasons to take classified info outside the office. Work happens in the office. I suspect the vast majority of bureaucrats (or the DEEP STATE) follow these rules religiously. Their jobs depend on it. Plus, they are loyal citizens who recognize the need to follow the rules and do so willingly.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostI suspect every living person who has served in any governmental position involving state secrets is currently going their homes, garages, golf courses, whatever, searching for docs. Politicians are a different breed. They often see the rules as a deterrent to the them "getting the job done." Since they are elected, I suspect they see themselves as "above all these restrictions." Hillary was certainly that way. Trump for sure. Biden likely, as well as Pence. Plus, exceptions are made for them and their teams. Look at Jared. He was denied clearances until exceptions were made. What about George Santos? That guy, by virtue of being elected, will have access to classified material.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Perhaps there is some small comfort that nobody would believe him even if he did divulge classified information.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View Post

A lot better. I mean it's not great, but with the limited information and what I know about Joe Biden, I'm not worried. I mean there is a chance those were nuclear codes and military secrets he was selling to Putin, but come on. Those could have been old obsolete briefings that he took home to study over the weekend and put in a box for all I know. There is no information that he was affirmatively hiding reams of classified documents from the U.S. government and lying about it, so I am not feeling the false equivalency here.Originally posted by falafel View Post
