Opposite sides of the same coin. The only difference is the Biden folks do it with an air of moral superiority, where the Trump folks do it with a middle finger. But we are all the same.
I will never forgive Biden and his enablers for handing Trump the presidency. That debacle is a congressional investigation worth the time.

But no Trumper can say with a straight face that Trump isn't similarly cognitively declined, if not the same level then certainly on the same spectrum. Especially after these last few months.

And I am still waiting to hear the many constitutional norms that Biden trampled over, since the only difference is apparently the air of moral superiority. If it isn't crystal clear by now that Trump presents the most direct assault on the constitution we've seen in our lifetimes, let alone generations, then I don't know what to say.

Trump has is issues, for sure. I don't think he has above-average intelligence. Can't pronounce acetaminophen??

Biden's issues were much broader than Trump's, imo. Biden was not only on a severe mental decline, he was physically incapable of doing the job. He aged about 100 years in the span of 1 year. Yes, it was clear when we saw him. But unlike Trump, who is on every screen at all times, Biden was hidden away and his handlers hid exactly how bad things had gotten. It wasn't until the debate that American truly understood how far he had declined. You are right, that act was unforgiveable.

Hell, the democrats still probably would have lost because their messaging is terrible and they can't seem to find their way out of a paper bag. But at least it wouldn't have been such a blood bath.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I would say Trump's grasp on reality is very tenuous. Even last year when he honestly believed that immigrants were eating pets. Showing leaders of African countries news articles of atrocities not committed in their country but claiming they were. Believing that Portland is a war zone, and then admitting to the governor that he's seeing differently on TV and hearing differently from his aides. These are all examples of him being embarrassingly easy manipulated, and not being able to separate fact from fiction.

Those could also be examples of him playing dumb. Trump has been a master at doing something which I never thought was possible in this internet age: repeating false claims until people believe them. In other words, he isn't trying to "grasp" reality, he is creating his own reality.

I was watching CNN today and they mentioned how in his first term, Trump signed an executive order withdrawing funding from so-call "anarchist" cities. Among those cities targeted: Portland, Chicago, Washington DC. New York and Seattle as well.

None of this is evidence that his mental capacity is in decline.

So Trump is basically just like all of us. Most of us believe what we see online that validates our views, and discount everything that doesn't validate our views. So he's a man of the people (I kid, I kid).

I don't think Trump has declined. I think this is how he's been his entire life. I just can't believe that the Republicans and Democrats allowed this to happen.

Hell....if the Democrats would have ran Fetterman last year, he'd have wiped the floor with Trump. Because enough of both parties liked him. I'd have voted for him.

But Trump is like that seminary video from long ago...."You knew what I was when you picked me up".

How do you come to that conclusion? There are plenty of moments that indicate he isn't firing on all cylinders.

I guess I can't rule that out, because that's what I used to believe. He is a demagogue who thinks nothing of brazenly lying to achieve his ends. But after all these miserable years with all the data points we have, I think the easier explanation is that he's nearly 80 and rapidly cognitively declining. It might be from a higher level than what Biden had before his trouble, but he's still in decline.

so you're on the 'lying his ass off until everyone believes him' side? Because the simplest explanation is that he is compromised enough to believe whatever the last aide put in front of him to watch.

Ha yes, nominally. I can't even keep up with current diabetes treatment guidelines

Fetterman probably would have been destroyed because of his stroke.

My post was in jest as it was a slight at Trump in that he's always been dumb, compromised and easily manipulated

Maybe. I still think he'd have faired better than Harris.

Ha, that was my point sort of too. He may not be smart, but he hasn't fallen far from that low perch.

Yes. Especially with time to get his campaign rolling.
