So you are implying that one political party will take up pet causes solely to counteract or downplay actions taken by the other political party? Fascinating."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

No- I'm saying that if Obama likes chocolate ice cream, Trump gets on Twitter and calls for a national boycott on chocolate ice cream, calls for its removal from stores, and goes on an incoherent 11-minute skid on each stop on his MAGA rally tour about how delicious Vanilla is and why can't we go back to the old days of sweet, sweet, vanilla ice cream without the modern-day Marxist scourge of chocolate ice cream poisoning our youth...Originally posted by Moliere View PostSo you are implying that one political party will take up pet causes solely to counteract or downplay actions taken by the other political party? He's just doing what the MSM does with him. Oh the media that dares ask follow-up questions when he lies on TV? How DARE they?!Originally posted by wapiti View PostHe's just doing what the MSM does with him. Who started it?
I'm going to go ahead and say Trump started it, since every time he gets any coverage that is anything less than fawning he goes on a rant about fake news, etc. Even Fox News isn't immune. When they criticize him or offer anything that isn't effusive praise he goes on Twitter, "FOX NEWS IS NO LONGER WORKING FOR US!"Last edited by Commando; 08-19-2020, 02:43 PM."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! 3.5 years into the Trump nightmare and people are forgetting what presidential leadership should look like. SAD!"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I have heard that Obama does like chocolate ice cream. Maybe Trump just hasn't heard yet.Originally posted by Commando View PostNo- I'm saying that if Obama likes chocolate ice cream, Trump gets on Twitter and calls for a national boycott on chocolate ice cream, calls for its removal from stores, and goes on an incoherent 11-minute skid on each stop on his MAGA rally tour about how delicious Vanilla is and why can't we go back to the old days of sweet, sweet, vanilla ice cream without the modern-day Marxist scourge of chocolate ice cream poisoning our youth...Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. It's like the theory of a million monkeys typing on a million typewriters. Give djt enough press opportunities and he just can't help but poop out some gems.

You know this isn’t true right? If you don’t agree with him 100% all the time on everything you’re an enemy. Maybe ignoring him would be better than criticizing him constantly, but there is no working together with him any more than there is working together with a rabid dog. He’s nuts.Originally posted by Eddie View PostThey might actually gain some sway with him if they'd rightfully recognize the handful of OK things he does now and then

I agree. Look at Romney and read the responses to any of his tweets. His voting record is pretty conservative but numerous right-wingnuts accuse him of being a traitor.Originally posted by Now who’s the dean? View PostYou know this isn’t true right? But: many on the left have also turned into rabid dogs. Like a blind, incoherent squirrel, Trump has done something good every once in a while. Scott Adams has become really annoying since Trump. I think he has broken his shoulder a couple of times patting himself on the back for predicting that Trump would win last time. I tried to read his book but it was so annoying, I had to give up and I rarely do that.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostI love Dilbert, but that is just a super stupid response.

That's the bar? Recognizing OK things Trump has done? Pointing out OK things Trump has done is as useful as pointing out whole kernels of corn in a utilized commode.Originally posted by Eddie View PostThis is complete politicized bullshit - by both sides.
Sure - I have no doubt that Trump pardoning Susan B. Anthony is a political stunt. I'm sure someone in his admin noticed it was the 100th anniversary and thought this could be a good press event for sure. That doesn't mean it isn't also a nice gesture.
From the other side - would they be this upset about SBA "doing nothing wrong" if it was President Hillary Clinton in office signing the pardon to celebrate 100 years of women having the right to vote? Doubt it.
When you say Trump is tone deaf - he is. There's no doubt about it. At the same time - it doesn't matter. Because the reality is that a huge group of people are going to jump on him no matter what he does and find a reason to hate it. So why would he listen? They might actually gain some sway with him if they'd rightfully recognize the handful of OK things he does now and then instead of finding a way to rant about how horrible everything he does is.

This has been my problem with the press all along. They are supposed to be somewhat objective. But since the day after the election it has just been non-stop Trump bashing. They ignore anything positive. They grasp onto unproven conspiracies. The coverage of Russia gate was a complete joke (millions of hours on a nothing burger).Originally posted by Now who’s the dean? Donald Trump is a bad person and a horrible president. The MSM took the bait, followed his lead, and became just like him.
