    Agreed. That is baffling and a reason why I left the party in protest after his election. I may come back eventually, but I will have to see what direction they go post trump.

      They didn't ask me - I guess I'm one of the Republicans who doesn't exactly approve of Trump either.

      I've stayed with the party because that's about the only way you can participate in local elections where I live in Utah. I want to participate in the primary elections - because whichever Republican wins the primary is going to win in the general. So if I want a say, that's where it happens.

          I was never officially a part of the party. But my family has videographic evidence of me going off on a righteous tirade against the GOP the day he was nominated.

                So many former Republicans left the party that for every 100 that remain in the party, 93 support Trump.

                      I think those polls usually ask people whether they identify as a Republican (as opposed to whether they are registered members). I've maintained my Republican registration to vote in primaries, because they are the only thing that really matters in state-wide elections in Utah. I don't identify as a Republican though (and never have).
