You are starting to sound like a Ron Paul fanboy... Welcome aboard!Originally posted by Walter Sobchak View PostUltimately, this is the biggest concern anyone should have with the current administration. Everything else is noise.
This action seems counter to President Trump's "America First" message (not that it would be the first time our President has done something inconsistent). During his campaign, President Trump consistently hammered against the orthodox GOP foreign policy, going so far (at least once iirc) of implying that President Bush lied us into the Iraq war. President Obama rode a wave of anti-interventionalist fervor into the White House and then caved to the pressure and power of top officials (on both sides of the aisle) and capitulated on issues such as Guantanamo, Syria, Libya, the Patriot Act, drone strikes, and on and on. What a disappointment.
Hopefully, President Trump can stick to hisprinciplesoriginal instincts and sweep the last vestiges of the post-9/11 war hysteria away... ending years and years of constant warfare abroad which has been perpetually "seeking monsters to destroy". If President Trump can do that, I'll vote for his re-election... because it will be nothing short of a miraculous achievement. I give him a 0.05% chance of doing this however, perhaps even less given his (and Flynn's) recent pronouncement about Iran.

LOL... Video of Iran's test missile launch:Originally posted by BlueK View PostNow I'm concered that war with Iran is probably right around the corner. Trump was supposed to be less hawkish/neocon, but I don't even think someone as hawkish as John McCain would have tried to provoke conflict with Iran.

Maybe Drumpf should let Israel or Russia take care of them and get the USA oil independent of the middle east instead."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Because Israel is not in a position to "take care" of Iran. A fear that American intelligence has is that Israel will start something with Iran and draw America into a conflict. I'm all for more oil independence from the Middle East but don't understand how total independence is economically possible given the price difference between middle eastern oil and domestic production.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostMaybe Drumpf should let Israel or Russia take care of them [Iran] and get the USA oil independent of the middle east instead.“Not the victory but the action. I like Howard Stern's assessment of Trump. I recommend the whole (brief) article, but some excerpts:
Stern and Trump are long-time friends, with Trump making numerous appearances on Stern's radio show over the years.
"I personally wish that he had never run, I told him that, because I actually think this is something that is gonna be detrimental to his mental health too, because, he wants to be liked, he wants to be loved," Stern said. "He wants people to cheer for him."
"I don't think it's going to be a healthy experience. And by the way, he's now on this anti-Hollywood kick. He loves Hollywood. First of all, he loves the press. He lives for it. He loves people in Hollywood. He only wants hobnob with them. All of this hatred and stuff directed towards him. It's not good for him. It's not good. There's a reason every president who leaves the office has grey hair."
"I like Donald very much personally. I was shocked when he decided to run for president, and even more shocked that sort of, people took it seriously," Stern said.
"I remember saying to him when he announced his presidency, I remember being quite amazed, because I remember him being for Hillary Clinton," Stern added.
"And I remember him being very--I mean he was pro-abortion. So the new Donald Trump kind of surprised me."
Stern said he doesn't believe Trump has had a change of heart on issues like abortion, but is instead playing to his base.

There's a dark part of me that welcomes revolution, that want's to blow it up. I want no part of Trump's America.Originally posted by BlueK View PostI'm equally annoyed by the crazy left. Sarah Silverstein is actually out there asking for armed revolution right now. That's just as terrible."The mind is not a boomerang. If you throw it too far it will not come back." ~ Tom McGuane
