    • This speech by JD Vance on AI is well worth watching.

      • I have a pretty high tolerance for government shakeup and the mistakes made trying to navigate the bureaucracy. I'm not stoked on the heartless nature it is being done and the dumping on the importance of process. But I don't have much tolerance for all the bullshit conspiracy nonsense GOP idiots feel compelled to peddle. The heartless nature and the conspiracy wackos will be the reason the GOP loses the House in 2026, possibly the Senate.

          • Pope takes on the Hillbilly.

Long read and very Catholic, but point 6 is where His Holiness kicks JD ass.

            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Yeah, the response from repub congresspeople when informed about farmers and such losing promised funding is pretty much, "Well, we new this was going to be disruptive." WTH, you're still getting paid, paying your mortgage, and enjoying all the bennies of your esteemed position. Have a damn heart.

                That's beautiful.

It blows my mind that stuff like this even needs to be said.

Hope this shuts up the Christian Nationalist claim that there's a hierarchy of love for people that you are supposed to care for, versus people that you can happily ignore. We were all once strangers in Egypt.

                    Nicely said.

Maybe it will move the Hillbilly to become a Trumpist Evangelical. That's where he really belongs, telling everyone else how they are going to hell.

                      That's funny.

Spoiler alert: They ignored the bible and now they will ignore the pope.

You are too correct. Nationalism isn't particularly Christian.

I remember asking a co-worker who is evangelical what she thought of the Beatitudes and she had no clue what I was referring to. She is a kind person but her church is pretty political

That's not something you hear from the guy in that position every day.

Christian Nationalists don’t necessarily like Catholics and often times don’t even consider Catholics as true Christians.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

True that. Catholic in-laws i Tennessee had a guy pointing at their Virgin Mary and yelling that they were going to hell. That's why the Hillbilly would be a natural.

There is this strand of super right-wing Catholics that are big part of this Christian Nationalist horseshit. See terrible human Nick Fuentes for example. It amuses me because Catholics weren't respected by Nativist and fascist voices and movements like the KKK in the past and were seen as contemptuous.
