Right. And throwing him a softball so he could riff, yet again, about how the media lies about him."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."
"You are an intemperate, unscientific poster who makes light of very serious matters.”

My criticism is not very precise. I'm just down on all the political opportunists. Coronavirus...chance to slam on Trump. It goes both ways. But the left side are more annoying at it right now.Originally posted by beefytee View PostI just watched the clip. Didn't seem like she we trying to scold him for racism. Sounds like she was trying to give the president a chance to justify his use of terms.

The high costs of Repubs being afraid to publicly counter Trump's messaging.
Intelligence Chairman Raised Virus Alarms Weeks Ago, Secret Recording Shows
The chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee warned a small group of well-connected constituents three weeks ago to prepare for dire economic and societal effects of the coronavirus, according to a secret recording obtained by NPR.
. . . . . . . . .
Thirteen days before the State Department began to warn against travel to Europe, and 15 days before the Trump administration banned European travelers, Burr warned those in the room to reconsider.
"Every company should be cognizant of the fact that you may have to alter your travel. You may have to look at your employees and judge whether the trip they're making to Europe is essential or whether it can be done on video conference. Why risk it?" Burr said.
Sixteen days before North Carolina closed its schools over the threat of the coronavirus, Burr warned it could happen.
"There will be, I'm sure, times that communities, probably some in North Carolina, have a transmission rate where they say, 'Let's close schools for two weeks. Everybody stay home,' " he said.
And Burr invoked the possibility that the military might be mobilized to combat the coronavirus. Only now, three weeks later, is the public learning of that prospect.
"We're going to send a military hospital there; it's going to be in tents and going to be set up on the ground somewhere," Burr said at the luncheon. "It's going to be a decision the president and DOD make. And we're going to have medical professionals supplemented by local staff to treat the people that need treatment."Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Trump has been a fucking disaster on this issue. It's not really debatable. The whole testing fiasco alone is damaging, not to mention his downplaying the virus, suppressing the intel reports, calling it a hoax. It's not an opportunity to slam on the unfairly maligned man as much as it sobering criticism of this criminally incompetent leader. What's annoying is how defensive GOPer's are of him, and how quickly they cry media bias, fake or hoax over genuine and helpful criticism.Originally posted by jay santos View PostMy criticism is not very precise. We are not in the mess because the left picks on Trump more than the right does. That's bizarro thinking.

C'mon, Trump isn't above criticism just because he's fucking this thing up. He is intentionally trying to divert attention and blame away from him by using a racist term (from which the world has moved away). His team provided a draft that he sharpied it to use "Chinese."Originally posted by jay santos View PostI'm over this crap. Who's wrong again? A snarky comeback from the president. Or a reporter taking time during a press conference with the president during a national emergency to scold him on racism. It's all bullshiz and most people don't care and are coming more and more on the opposite side of the woke. Spend the next four years being shocked about how we voted this guy in again. Spend the next 20 years shocked how we voted more unwoke republican presidents if you want to focus on stuff that doesn't matter and push extreme liberal politics. I voted for Hillary and I'm appalled at most of the stuff Trump says, but just like Exmormons are keeping me in the Mormon Church, the woke are keeping me voting republican.

Stop attacking Trump you petty social justice warrior. You will force people to vote for him. Pretend he's normal.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostC'mon, Trump isn't above criticism just because he's fucking this thing up. Of Course Trump Deserves Blame for the Coronavirus Crisis
In the four years that Donald Trump has dominated the national conversation, he’s gnawed away at the sanity of those of us who see him for what he is. In this new, even more dystopian era of coronavirus, it would be nice to be furloughed from having to think about him.
But while the calamity we are experiencing is not Trump’s doing, his dishonesty and incompetence have exacerbated it, and continue to do so. To point this out is not to dwell on the past but to confront the scale of our present crisis. Trump has been giving daily televised briefings in which he overpromises and spreads misinformation. He makes bad decisions and reverses himself only under the pressure of bad press. That makes frankness about his catastrophic ineptitude imperative.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

Several of our big customers have their closed stores the last two days and cancelled all of their orders through June. They also unilaterally extended their payment terms by 90 days. Luckily we haven't had lost a top 5 customer yet.
Yet even through all this, tariff payments go on. We get to make a massive tariff payment on Monday. If we don't make the payment our supply chain gets shut down (even product we've moved to other countries). The Chinese are not paying the tariffs. My company would have several months of liquidity on the balance sheet were it not for the tariffs. But the tariffs sucked much of the excess we could have built through the economic boom. Not sure how we'll get through this now . . .

Trump's response today to a reasonable question posed by an NBC reporter is among the worst things I've heard a President say from the podium. Interestingly, the same question posed to VP Pence a few minutes later received a very appropriate (and sane) response. As Jake Tapper notes, and as has been true for a long time, the best thing Trump could do is to shut up and let the smart, rational people in his administration handle things.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, here's the incident as reported by CNN.

He is the worst and clearly not up to this challenge. We are now seeing how he reacts in the face of a real crisis. Those press opportunities end up all about him, not the crisis. No wonder the markets are diving.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

Imagine Trump in place of Churchill in the dark hours of Dunkirk, etc. Instead of offering hope and inspiration (and giving one of the truly great speeches in history), he'd be tearing into the bastards on Fleet Street for providing anything other than glowing praise. Now that I think about it, a parody of Trump giving such a speech would be pretty funny, unlike our current reality which is simply depressing.Originally posted by myboynoah View PostHe is the worst and clearly not up to this challenge. Yeah, drumpf should just be honest and upfront with the American people rather than giving them a false hope talking about a drug the FDA hasn't approved... something like this:Originally posted by myboynoah View PostHe is the worst and clearly not up to this challenge. Yeah, Gov Newsom said that 56% of Californians may get the coronavirus in the next eight weeks. If we look at places like Italy and the rest of Europe 3.4% of those that get the virus will die. While there is this drug that seemed to work well in China helping people recovery from the virus there isn't a chance that the FDA will approve it in time for the 700,000 people in California who will likely died. Of course, many of those 700,000 people will likely be the old ones. So on the positive side as the former nursing chief of the National Health Service in the UK said, the virus could be "quite useful" in killing off the "hospital bed blockers.""If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.
"I honestly believe saying someone is a smart lawyer is damning with faint praise. The smartest people become engineers and scientists." -SU.
"Yet I still see wisdom in that which Uncle Ted posts." -creek.
