Rather than take credit (or accept blame) for the jump in gas prices, Trump will make good on his pledge during the campaign to invade and commandeer the oil fields. He wouldn't back down on a campaign promise, would he?

And as noted a couple of days ago, it's pretty weird that I regard the presence of Javanka (two people with virtually no governmental experience, with total ignorance about foreign relations) as a good thing in the current administration. At least they're both smart and seem more mainstream and have a better grasp of foreign and domestic needs/issues than their boss and Steve Bannon.

Ditto. I thought Trump was a person of low moral character, bereft of any true convictions, and the greatest self-promoter of my lifetime, long before there was a Russian issue. Recent events have done nothing to change that view.

As much as I hated pulling the lever for HRC, it was really the only option (yes, really, UT!). The Russian accusations are groundless (and dangerous) and ultimately serve only to deflect from HRC's campaign failure. Sad.

ANd I am planning to live in the present where he is the president and we have to deal with his decisions and conduct. The problem is, after a few days reports will trickle in that the strike appears to be less and less effective than thought and President Trump will be forced to make a decision - wholly driven by domestic political perception - escalate or face the perception of failure.

We have opened a box here, and we will be unable to shut it. Trump should have consulted the 2013 version of himself and left Syria alone.
