I'm taking a wait and see approach on this. Maybe it is a good thing that our secretary of defense is sharing classified info with reporters, right? Right?
Yes, best to wait and see. Mostly because the MAGAbots have been all over the place on this and each of which contradicts the other stories. Some are denying it and saying the editor is a liberal reactionary hack and a liar. Some are accusing the editor of actively breaching the Signal chat group surreptitiously. Some are saying it was really no big deal and nothing seriously classified was revealed (they are careful to note "in the published story"). And then some are using the 100D chess example where it was intentional to show how The Hillbilly is really hard on Europe (umm, just look on youtube for plenty of examples of The Hillbilly denigrating our European allies). Or, as the lightweight Waltz is suggesting, technology is crazy and sometimes unauthorized contacts "just get sucked into" conversations about U.S. war planning.
What a bunch of fucking jokers.
Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
Well, there you go. U.S. Navy pilots going into harm's way and Hegseth is sharing the details over unclassified systems a couple of hours prior to the attack.
Don't call people liars when they have you by the short hairs.
White House will now threaten to arrest the editor for unauthorized release of classified information.

He reached out to all the agencies involved and the White House for comment or objection. The Press Secretary responded and said "As we have repeatedly stated, there was no classified information transmitted in the group chat. However, as the CIA Director and National Security Advisor have both expressed today, that does not mean we encourage the release of the conversation. This was intended to be a an [sic] internal and private deliberation amongst high-level senior staff and sensitive information was discussed. So for those reason [sic] — yes, we object to the release.”
I don't actually blame her for not being able to tell offhand. At the time, she was on a Japan-Thailand-India trip, so some of the messages might have come at different points on the trip. The relevant question is whether she had access to a SCIF, and why she didn't do her part in shutting down this massive breach of protocol (discussing this stuff over unfficial channels, not the inviting-a-journalist part).
Jeff Goldberg, the Atlantic (paraphrased): "You want to call me a liar? Insinuate that I hacked the chat? Lie about the contents? I'll release the whole thing, minus the name of the CIA COS. Bring it, mfer. Bring it."
The exercise of determining whether the exact times and locations of takeoff of attack jets and drone strike packages, 30 minutes in advance, is classified information, is left to the reader.
Whiskeygate continues.
Well, if it truly classified, it should come with appropriate classification markings. I'm sure the chat included that.
Well, we elected a clown, so now we are getting clown behavior. Not surprised.
