I find it a little surprising you hadn't heard of at least some of the lawsuits or rulings so far. I don't know which news sources you follow but is there a conservative media narrative going right now that the dems are only whining but not going to the courts? Weird if so because it's so easily disproved.

    • Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I read the wsj daily. I knew about the stay on ending birthright citizenship and the freeze on spending that Trump ultimately just took down becasue it was clear it wouldn’t hold up in court. I guess I was talking more about everything Musk is doing and how the Dems are saying it’s all unconstitutional.

But I do stand corrected. I was wrong.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

My MAGA friends are loving every minute of these first two weeks becasue, as they told me “we voted for this.”
Wait, is this a political strategy thread or a straight what's best thread? If its about political strategy, you are right - the Dems can't yell that Trump lied about not knowing what Project 2025 is. Obviously he's a massive liar and has been one his whole life. But if it is a "what should be done?" thread, Trump's outright and ridiculous lie(s) should be fair game here.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Sadly, part of the problem with next steps is that Trump fired the Inspectors General in the departments and fired a lot of the DOJ. Per my response from my Senator, Congress will not act. The response will be much slower that Trumps "muzzle velocity" approach, but it will come.

Thanks for sharing. This is exactly right.

Angst over Project 2025 was dumb from the start. So there's a 2500-page document describing all kinds of scary plans for the second Trump presidency? Why do I need to worry about a document when Trump was spouting the same thing or worse in his rallies on a daily basis? The existence of that document didn't change anything. It is especially dumb to bring it up now. I guarantee you that nothing in that document was more crazy than his Mar-A-Gaza proposal.

                        • wow it's not just Trump trolling the world about Gaza (because you just never know when he's serious or not!), some GOP are serious about new borders for the Middle East:

“The Jewish people’s legal and historic rights to Judea and Samaria goes back thousands of years,” Senator Tom Cotton, Republican of Arkansas, said in a statement about the legislation. He called for the United States to “stop using the politically charged term West Bank”; opponents of annexation say it is the term Judea and Samaria that reflects a political agenda.

Representative Claudia Tenney, Republican of New York, another sponsor of the bill, also announced the recent creation of a congressional group — the Friends of Judea and Samaria Caucus — to advance policies that support Israeli claims to that land. By introducing the bill and creating the caucus, “we are working to reaffirm Israel’s rightful claim to its territory,” she said in a statement.

Judea and Samaria?!? What in the hell?

If the President and Congress decide that an agency is no longer needed or needs to be downsized, then zero it out via a budget process or legislative action. Many agencies and departments have been established by law. We shouldn't let a President decide solely on his own whims or understanding. Working as the President should with Congress will provide a transparent process and allow us (the American people) to provide input. Right now decision-making is a black box. Also, federal workers have certain protections that will come into play. People need to be fired for cause. The class-action suits will be enormous and they will win. All I ask is that they just do it the way the Constitution demands.

Also, USAID employees are being treated horribly. Have some compassion for people whose live are being turned upside down. They went overseas for us. The messaging coming out of Washington is "cruelty is key."
USAID employees are being treated like many people have been treated in the private sector. Whether it's right or wrong or somewhere in the middle it happens. If even half of what I've been hearing about malfeasance by USAID is true then I applaud their tactics. Now do the Department of Education.

The point is more that competent people were out there planning a way to give that lunatic more power. That is not the same thing as Trump on the stump saying he will make all women happy and secure whether they want it or not.

Also, the argument isn't about crazy Trump promises (Mar-A-Gaza made me LOL). He's always said stupid shit. The argument is he does not care at all about lying directly to the American public's face. People used to pay attention to that sort of thing.
