Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I was watching that while She Who Must Be Obeyed listened in. After it was finished, I said Trump probably regards spousal infidelity as a plus and that, sadly, because I can't truthfully put that on my resume I'm probably disqualified from serving in the Trump administration. She said, "Well, there's still time." So I have a green light!Originally posted by myboynoah View Post

I find these hearings to be performative nonsense."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

It's not a serious proceeding because this is not a serious nominee. The fact that Republicans go along with it because ::checks notes:: Marquayne Mullin's wife could throw him in prison if she testified is shameful.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI find these hearings to be performative nonsense.
Compare this to the confirmation hearing of James Mattis: https://www.youtube.com/live/8f2ROIP...NnMNvjuDfd4Qcb
Do you think the Senate in 2017 is somehow less political then it is today?

It is utterly depressing that 4 years later, a litmus test for anyone who wants to be in Trump's administration is to not publicly state that Biden won the election, let alone fairly."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

I think he's going to be good. He's gotten a lot more substantive throughout his tenure in the Senate. Quite a contrast with his peers in Cruz, Paul, and Lee.

I think they know they are safe saying stuff like that, they know that we have finally realized that it's not worth the time, effort or money it would take.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View Post

I understand that Trump doesn't personally care for Puerto Rico but if he allows a territory/commonwealth of the US be militarily invaded and taken over by another country and he does nothing, it would absolutely be Constitional grounds for impeachment. I would also look at it as a legitimate justification to go after Maduro and institute a regime change.Originally posted by LVAllen View Post
Big Powerful Men like to threaten to invade other countries. Other Big Powerful Men understand that. It's just how Big Powerful Men operate. Plus, it's not like Big Powerful Trump would lose anything by giving Puerto Rico to Big Powerful Man Maduro. His supporters don't care about Puerto Rico and think Puerto Ricans in the US should be deported.

Thanks for reminding me why I didn’t vote for Tim Kane for VP.Originally posted by myboynoah View Post

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Trump complaining about the flag at half-staff is dumb. But Biden could have extended an olive branch by ordering the flags back to full staff even for Inauguration Day. But instead, now we have the Speaker of the House and Republican governors sending out a dissenting flag order for the day. Now it becomes very political and divisive where it could have been a means of coming together.

Nothing but a loyalty test. On the one hand, you have the tradition of honoring the dead for the full amount of time, even if that time overlaps with an inauguration. On the other hand, you have the Orange Menace ordering Mandatory Fun on Inauguration Day. The crowds will cheer or else.

I am politically closer to you than Moliere, but I agree with him. In a town full of low-lifes, I don’t need to hear one politician berate someone else for infidelity. There was so much more to hit Hegseth with than what Kaine did. Some senators did it wellOriginally posted by Maximus View Post
