    If you are going to eliminate anything, get rid of standard time.
    Exactly.

    If this is so popular, we have the authority at the state level to do it ala Arizona. No need for federal intervention.

    What happened to all the libertarians out there?
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

    For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

    Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. • Trump’s providing some payback to his union supporters by opposing the automation of our nation’s ports (such a libertarian). This Truth Social post tells it all:

            Just finished a meeting with the International Longshoremen’s Association and its President, Harold Daggett, and Executive VP, Dennis Daggett. There has been a lot of discussion having to do with “automation” on United States docks. I’ve studied automation, and know just about everything there is to know about it. The amount of money saved is nowhere near the distress, hurt, and harm it causes for American Workers, in this case, our Longshoremen. Foreign companies have made a fortune in the U.S. by giving them access to our markets. They shouldn’t be looking for every last penny knowing how many families are hurt. They’ve got record profits, and I’d rather these foreign companies spend it on the great men and women on our docks, than machinery, which is expensive, and which will constantly have to be replaced. In the end, there’s no gain for them, and I hope that they will understand how important an issue this is for me. For the great privilege of accessing our markets, these foreign companies should hire our incredible American Workers, instead of laying them off, and sending those profits back to foreign countries. It is time to put AMERICA FIRST! [Emphasis added]
            Vintage Trump, and yet another example of “It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so.” China’s automated ports provide a huge competitive advantage we’d do well to emulate. In the long run, a strong, competitive economy creates more jobs in the long run; shunning innovation reduces them. And it ‘s yet another example of Trump’s stupid belief that it’s the furriners who bear the bloated costs of our ports when, as with tariffs, it’s the American consumer.

                Additionally, you have multiple right wing media influencers like Matt Walsh, say "oh yeah, we lied, Project 2025 was the plan all along."

                • Project 2025 seems like pretty much the same conservative policy recommendations we’ve heard most of our adult lives. I haven’t really looked into it that much, maybe a total of 10 minutes on their site during the election. I just kind of assumed the left was fear-mongering about it. Why is it so much scarier than normal republican stuff?

                      Doctrine and Covenants 134:9 ... "We do not believe it just to mingle religious influence with civil government, whereby one religious society is fostered and another proscribed in its spiritual privileges, and the individual rights of its members, as citizens, denied."

                      “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holds to the doctrine of the separation of church and state; the non-interference of church authority in political matters; and the absolute freedom and independence of the individual in the performance of his political duties …

                      “We declare that from principle and policy, we favor:

                      “The absolute separation of church and state;

                      “No domination of the state by the church;

                      “No church interference with the functions of the state;

                      “No state interference with the functions of the church, or with the free exercise of religion;

                      “The absolute freedom of the individual from the domination of ecclesiastical authority in political affairs;

                      “The equality of all churches before the law.”

                      Yes, "Project 2025 seems like pretty much the same conservative policy recommendations we've heard most of our adult lives," but at one point does it promote Christian nationalism, "mingle religious influence with civil government" and eschew the protections guaranteed by the first amendment? We are going to find out.

                        It's 900 pages. Your faith in the GOP is misplaced.

                          It baffles me why Project 2025 gets so much attention.

                            Because some people worry about what's in it.

                                The best thing about the RFK Jr. nomination is that it's bringing an abnormal amount of attention to HHS. By almost any measure that department has failed. Whether it's chronic diseases, obesity, and mental health issues. American public health outcomes lag compared to other developed nations, despite a massive HHS budget. His radical views on vaccinations have given him a lot of space to talk about those other issues. A good example is this FDA hearing. I'm not sure it happens without his nomination.
