Mitt is damaged goods at this point, and too old, so it shouldn't be him. But someone in that vein might at least force the election to the House. Not that that would help, given it is currently in the control of Democrats.

Too Old? Mitt is 6 years younger than Bernie, 5 years younger than Biden, 1 year younger than Trump, and 2 years older than Warren.

      Write in Mitt!!!
      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

        • In the debate Blasio literally said he wants to "even the score" and "tax the hell out of the rich". This is the essence of the democratic platform right now. The difference between De Blaso/AOC and Harris/Warren/Bernie is not substance or policy. It is only tactics. I did not and will not vote for trump, but the insanity of the dem reaction to him is forcing me to a third party again.

LOL... They love de Blasio's tax plan back home:

De Blasio’s Extreme Tax Plan Is Either A Political Stunt Or A Recipe To Ruin NYC, Experts Say

Mayor de Blasio’s radical new tax plan isn’t even a day-old and is already receiving intense blowback.

It’s being dismissed as both a desperate political stunt to stay in the presidential race and something that could decimate New York City’s economy.

“We will tax the hell out of the wealthy,” de Blasio declared Wednesday night.

The mixed nuts Bill de Blasio ate to prepare for the presidential debate may have gone to his head – because the radical tax plan he now wants to impose on the United States has many people asking “are you nuts?” and “do you know what it would do to the city you lead?”

“This plan is not just a tax on the ultra-wealthy, not just a tax on the wealthy, but a tax on the middle class… It’s extreme,” Timothy Ghriskey, the chief investment strategist for Inverness Counsel said.

The mayor of a city supported by Wall Street, the real estate industry, the tech industry, and the American dream is – according to experts – trying to dim the light on Lady Liberty’s torch by redistributing everyone’s money.

De Blasio’s radical plan would impose:

            • $10 trillion in new taxes
            • A recurring wealth tax on assets
            • New taxes on Wall Street stock trades
            • Estate taxes on everything over $1 million
            • A “turncoat” tax if anyone decides to renounce their citizenship to avoid paying de Blasio’s taxes

Experts say the new asset tax would decimate the real estate industry. People would be loath to buy pricey apartments if they had to pay another tax in top of the real estate tax. Building owners might be forced to sell.

Yes, the idea to tax everything that moves is not new among Democrats.

He'd be the oldest person elected to be President if he won. Time to move on from the boomers.

It may be in control of the Democrats, but each state is only allowed 1 vote in the event of no majority of the electors. By my calculation the current make up by state is 26 R 22 D and 2 split. That would make the House elections even more interesting if there were a viable third party candidate.

I forgot about that. That would make it interesting. Given what we’ve seen so far, though, they’d probably re-elect Trump.

They actually aren't beholden to the two main candidates. They could potentially choose a third, more moderate candidate.

                      • If a recession hits due to the trade war, I don't think it's something Trump's campaign is going to be able to overcome.

It's the fault of those damn socialists. Just like Democrats, see? China = Socialist, Democrat = Socialist, ergo Effect of Trump's trade war (and now, likely currency war) = caused by Democrats.

Sure, a lot of his base would follow him straight into hell and then some. But just enough voters he got last time in some of the states he barely won and badly needs to win again (MI, WI, PA) will flip. His path to reelection was pretty tight as it was. A recession will be too much to overcome.

I agree. His re-election depends on the economy and if he doesn’t time his trade war right people will be pretty upset. Stocks are still relatively high but people forget that once they’ve readjusted their baseline.

Mitt is a beast. I bet he can do crunches like Patrick Bateman.
