It is increasingly an identifier used by the extreme right. Nick Fuentes and like have used that term to soft sell their hatred.
What do you perceive Christian nationalism is? It's inherently anti-Christian. It wouldn't be good to embrace a state religion, which is what a lot of these types want.

    • Boogeymen aren't real. Don't ignore the ample evidence jl.

Would you label justice Alito as a Christian nationalist based on the private comments he gave to the person that was secretly recording him?
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

What do you consider to be Christian Nationalist? We probably have different ideas.

I see them as people who want to erode the wall of separation between church and state.

If the private recordings are accurate, he sure sounds like one.
Roberts' responded in a view that very much affirms he is not one. Usually that's a label people assert for themselves though.
I don't know if he'd describe himself that way.

          • I rest my case. Christian nationalists are everywhere!

Literally no one has said that. But some of it is concerning. Steve Bannon is a Christian Nationalism. This term wasn't invented by aggrieved liberals.

MTG has publicly and loudly proclaimed herself to be one.

Would you consider christianity.com to be a credible site? Seems to be to me. Any arguments for why this movement shouldn't be a little concerning to those not part of that movement?

Again, what does MTG or Christian Nationalism have to do with Alito? I don't see evidence for the connection. The way things are being portrayed here the next bit of evidence for his Christian Nationalism will be video of him walking into a church.

Sorry, got off on a tangent perhaps. Let's just say if Alito were to suddenly start putting out opinions in SCOTUS rulings arguing for Christians to have greater civil rights than others, then we'll know.

I’d agree with you that if he did that, then I think he could be labeled a Christian nationalist. I’m not aware of him doing that, although I’m no scotus scholar.

                          Lol. Yeah. Super likely.

I didn't say it was likely. Of course neither was a sitting president calling for a mob to disrupt the certification of the election.

Good thing they are not voting but rather ruling on matters of law.
