Haha. Aren't you the guy who just scolded someone for discussing a topic about Hunter Biden because he didn't do it in the right tone?"There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Sheesh, Jeff I criticized him for calling people crackheads and whores. I have strong opinions about that. I have seen how that can harmful for very real people.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

I've been called out for my "tone" in the past. I've tried to curtail my use of the F word because BFN respectfully asked me too.
Also, I never told USUC to go to a different thread.
it's not hard to do over the internet but I think you misunderstand my perspective.

No, I am talking about when you scolded Uncle Ted for bringing up how the Biden family ignores Hunter's daughter. I mentioned that lots of people, including democrats, were upset and disappointed by that and then you said that Uncle Ted's sin in discussing it was that he was too "gleeful" about it. I thought that was funny.Originally posted by frank ryan View Post

Justice Alitos wife sounds a bit nuts though. Lol, she is so triggered by a pride flag.

Can't the guy have his own personal opinions? This wasn't an official statement but was instead an expression of his personal beliefs (which I don't think rise to the level of Christian nationalist). I bet we'd be just as shocked if we heard what Sotomayor or Kagan say in private conversations.Originally posted by Maximus View Postso we find out alito is a christian nationalist and its meh?
Also, don't forget about the huge bombshell from Roberts:
I mean, talk about a quote worthy of being in an article“Yeah, I don’t know that we live in a Christian nation. I know a lot of Jewish and Muslim friends who would say maybe not,” Roberts says in the recording. “And it’s not our job to do that. It’s our job to decide the cases as best we can.”
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

When the opinions he has affects millions of people maybe we should be concerned? I love that you think that the opinions of Roberts and Alito are just fine, but then speculate on the opinions of Sotomayor and Kagan.Originally posted by Moliere View Post

You see, this is the problem. We used to not care about the justices personal opinions because presidents mostly nominated competent judges that were not recommended by some "think tank". We could rely on those judges to apply the law without bias. Now we have people that clearly make their legal judgments based on the personal opinions. Not how it was designed.

Judges' personal biases have always affected their judgments. That's not new.Originally posted by originalsocal View Post

- What is alarming for me about the CNN story is the subterfuge employed to record the justices.
