  • How did they think they even had a chance. Bunch of idiots. And savage Ps of S.

    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Yeah, I think it's time to call that bluff. Other states are watching and seeing the power the nuclear threat is having against us, namely China (with designs on Taiwan), Iran (with designs on regional hegemony), and NKorea (with designs on reunification on its terms). This crap will come back at us elsewhere.

Time to ratchet up our support. It looks like we are going to facilitate the transfer of Soviet-made tanks. Why not get those Mig 29 delivered as well? And how about some more robust antiair missile systems. And how about some covert special ops missions, like taking down that Kerch Straits bridge, thereby cutting off Crimea from road access to the Russia and trapping (at least for a time) the parts of the Russian fleet that are in the Sea of Azov supporting the siege of Mariupol? And facilitate more attacks on Russian soil.

      • This article about the war I think makes a lot of sense.

That was a great article. I like the writer's style. This paragraph had me rolling:

The West will have to rearm, because for the foreseeable future it will face a hostile Eurasian bloc. To warn, as some do, that we risk throwing Russia into China’s embrace is foolish. They have already been caught in flagrante delicto, and the only long-term remedy is to convince China that it is unproductive to be locked in the embrace of a decrepit, incontinent, and failing partner.

          • 267 Ukrainian marines surrender. I can't see Mariupol holding out for much longer.

              That can't be good.

              • More 300 civilians tortured and killed in Bucha, Zelensky claims

More from Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, who has been addressing the Ukrainian people from his office in Kyiv.

Zelensky accused Russian forces of killing and torturing more than 300 civilians in the formerly occupied city of Bucha, where evidence of alleged Russian war crimes have been discovered.

The BBC cannot independently verify this claim.

"We have just begun an investigation into all that the occupiers have done," Zelensky said.

"At present, there is information about more than three hundred people killed and tortured in Bucha alone. It is likely that the list of victims will be much larger when the whole city is checked. And this is only one city."

"There is already information that the number of victims of the occupiers may be even higher in Borodyanka and some other liberated cities," he went on.

"In many villages of the liberated districts of the Kyiv, Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the occupiers did things that the locals had not seen even during the Nazi occupation 80 years ago. The occupiers will definitely bear responsibility for this."

Disgusting, considering how much they elevate their history coming out of the holocaust. I have no problem with keeping those memories alive and close, but why not make good use of those at this time? Unbelievable.

I bet they made some deal with Russia after John Kerry opened the door for Russia to operate in Syria (has there been a more feckless Secretary of State than John Kerry?). Russia probably lets Israel bomb Iranian ammo and staging facilities in Syria, and may even provide some intel on Iranian movements, for other concessions from Israel (like staying mute on this war).
This is exactly correct. Israel needs the Russians to look the other way when they take out Iranian proxies in Syria. Another consequence of failed western deterrence. It's easy to get pissed at Israel for this response but they have their own existential threats to deal with.

Yeah, the really interesting/scary thing for me is the parallels between the russian nationalists/putin-lovers and the MAGA/trump movement.
