Yeah, those sanctions will be killers. You can't build anything today without semiconductors, and the West (Korea, U.S., Taiwan, etc.) make the most advanced products. Russian auto plants are shut down because they can't get semiconductors (even Hyundai has shut down its plant for this reason). China makes semiconductors, but of lesser sophistication, and China needs its semiconductors for its own industry. This all extends to the defense industry.

Long term sanctions are going to take their toll. I just hope the world can stay strong on that front. Certainly Russia stupidly bombing civilians, hospitals, theatres, shopping malls, etc. is helping on that front.

Very interesting, as was the article he linked at the end about how Russia became so big and cold.

I've heard enough faith promoting stories to know that this one ends with miles and miles of rubble and the only standing structure being the LDS temple.

Yeah, I saw that. Hoping it was Uk special ops activity, but then someone posted multiple instances of Russian ammo dumps blowing up over the past few years. Accident or special ops, either way, it's spectacular.

Well Germany not looking so good in this recounting of interactions with Ukraine pre- and post-invasion.

Yeah, Germany was really slow to get on board with the rest of the world. Not a great look for them especially WRT their history.
