So, um, uh, yeah, um, ok, Bush sounds very, um, uh, presidential.

The 2016 Presidential Election Primary Thread
It's the first one I've enjoyed watching for years. I loved Mitt too much to have fun watching the debates. With no strong rooting interest it's a good time.Originally posted by Moliere View PostEverything about this debate is making me uncomfortable. Now I remember why I never watch these things.

He's the "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore" candidate.Originally posted by Moliere View PostHis lead is totally mystifying. Try as I might I can't hate Kasich or Bush. Kasich could be a problem.Last edited by New Mexican Disaster; 08-06-2015, 08:50 PM.

A problem in what way? (I'm not familiar with your political leanings)Originally posted by New Mexican Disaster View PostTry as I might I can't hate Kasich or Bush. Kasich could be a problem.
I think Kasich would be the best candidate by far and would have the best shot to win a general election. I would be happy with Kasich or Walker. Bush and Rubio are kind of meh for me. The rest make me sad or angry.

haha you are obviously unaware of all the progress the GOP made in the recent elections. that clearly means that these xenophobic and homophobic policies are probably starting to gain traction again.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostDoubling down on criminalizing abortion, fighting gay marriage, Mexican border wall, the Bible/Jesus, reversing Obamacare, not expanding Medicaid.
As horrible as Hillary is, I'm thinking she's got a chance.

My political leanings are the opposite direction. Even back to his days in the House I have thought that Kasich was a serious and pragmatic politician.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostA problem in what way? (I'm not familiar with your political leanings)

That debate was interesting. The gang from Fox News was pretty terrific. They asked some hard questions and allowed a good fight or two. After watching I now like Rubio in addition to Walker, Bush and Kasich. I also don't mind Christie as much.

I like Walker, Kasich, and Bush, in that order, but I'm not excited about any of them. We need a president that focuses on the economy and (real) national security issues. The Mexican border isn't a national security issue. Reagan wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning the primary today. How the hell Donald Trump ever became a serious candidate is beyond me. None of these people, with the exception of maybe Bush, has a shot at taking out Hillary.sigpic
