Exactly.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

lol GeoArch, come on now, I can only assume you are speaking hypothetically. There are no women out there making any policies.Originally posted by GeoArch View PostThe difference is that when a disagreement arises, people attack women's appearance in addition to their policy, not just their policy. I've seen interviews with female politicians from both parties where one of the interview questions is about their clothes. They never ask the male politicians about their clothes. When people get mad with a women's policies, the appearance-based insults come out (fat cow, cankles, etc.). I just compare the criticism of Colin Powell vs. Condoleezza Rice as Secretary of State. A lot of times the criticism of Condoleeza Rice included appearance-based insults.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

If women have to look good then how do you explain, Barbara Boxer, Pilosi, Hillary (she got elected) Elizabeth Warren, Patti Murray and Eleanor Roosevelt?

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. I'm still in shock that she was elected so many times.Originally posted by byu71 View PostIt is also such a double standard that Republican candidates have to have policy you agree with but they have to be considered smart and not dumb.

Nope, I haven’t. But I Googled them and found plenty that have women too. :POriginally posted by Commando View Posthave you not seen the glory that is the corn dog meme?
Those are really pretty ingenious pieces of smear campaigning that are pretty destructive.
One case of fat-shaming a man doesn't an argument make when you stack it up against, "Oh, the horror! She appeared in public without make-up!" Besides, it's more culturally acceptable for a man to be overweight than a woman.Originally posted by Pelado View Post
As a female, I don't think being kneed in the groin would have that dramatic effect. Also, I disagree that BYU71 won. :POriginally posted by Moliere View PostGeoarch

You don't think history considers Eleanor Roosevelt a political force? I can understand your jab had I included in the sentece something about being elected or running for office.Originally posted by Commando View PostI'm still in shock that she was elected so many times.
However, I will grant you had I used the word elected or candidate, your comment would have been very humorous.
Also, the discussion was about candidates so I can understand your error.

Sorry, for some reason I didn't know you were female. The female's on this board add a great deal and I wish they would post more often.Originally posted by GeoArch View PostAs a female, I don't think being kneed in the groin would have that dramatic effect. Also, I disagree that BYU71 won. :P
Had I known I would have taken a softer approach.

Forget Condi Rice, look at the whole 2008 democratic primary. Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

Is Hugh Hewitt trying to sell some more books? Something's up because this is a pretty hard push for Mitt to run a third time.

Has Hillary announced she's running yet? Or is she still just thinking about it?
Also - I don't know if Mitt could win. But the more I hear about him the more I get a sense that he's much too practical and not enough of a politician to win. He would probably do a pretty good job. I think he'd be better suited to attempting to bring the two sides together to get stuff done. But he comes across as more of a facilitator/manager than leader for whatever reason. And 'Murica doesn't want someone unless they start by pounding their chest and making big promises.
