As he should be. Simply amazing that Hillary can continue to hang on.
I'm no fan of Carson, but this story barely gets a meh from me.

He's recalling things than happened when he was 17. I seriously doubt he had a journal to look back on and get all of the details straight. It probably would've been smart to see what historical evidence there was out there that could help him remember some of the what's and when's. Like looking at Westmoreland's schedule to see if/when he was in Detroit.

I have no doubt that he had dinner with the General. He just failed to mention that there were 1,500 other people in the room. It wouldn't surprise me that as the top ROTC student in the state, he got to meet and shake the General's hand.

Was he offered admission and a scholarship to West Point? I wouldn't be surprised at all to learn that he was told that with his credentials he was a shew in and would have no problem getting into West Point. It wouldn't surprise me if the person introducing him to the General mentioned that and they all encouraged him to apply there - though I would view that as the General being kind and making small talk. But looking through the lens of a 17 year-old, I bet he thought he was being offered entry to West Point.

As all costs are covered for cadets, if he's trying to impress people and express what that means, then putting it in the context of a full ride scholarship (since it is a university) isn't crazy either.

I was expecting more in reading this article. But it is really meaningless, in my mind.

    • Ben Carson lied about a professor naming him the "most honest student" at Yale. http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/ben-c...ry?id=35045540

Ugh. This guy is running based largely on his amazing life story but a lot of his stories only happened in his own mind.

LOL! Is there a level of pettiness to which the media won't stoop? Carson is a bad candidate and won't win. There's no need for people to try to validate a dumb test exercise or whether or not he threw rocks at people's heads.

          • Here's my problem with Carson (and likely with the majority of voters should he do the impossible and win the GOP nomination): other than an interesting personal story, is there anything else of substance that would help him be a good president? Or, put another way, is his personal story interesting/inspiring enough to cover for his complete lack of political experience? If so, then just barely.

Now if there are questions concerning the veracity of his autobiography (and it seems like it's just more than the West Point story), what do voters have to support him? That he's a decent person? Great. Because he really is a subpar politician who tends to whiff on a lot of softballs. And if he's embellishing his story, then he should get his Fox News Channel gig secure, because voters won't take to kindly to allegations of lying.

Yeah, Obama pretty much screwed that up for him.
              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Yep, and Hillary isn't much different. A one term Senator in a state where she really didn't live and a non-distinguished term as Secretary of State. She is good at getting a plumb job but never succeeds once she has them. I suppose just being old and belonging to the right party makes one qualified.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Yes. You meant that if she wasn't so ineffective for 4 years she would maybe have stayed in for longer. Has anyone yet named one significant achievement of her time as Secretary of State?

                        • If we're bagging on the lack of Obama's or Clinton's significant accomplishments before presidential runs, then Carson looks even more foolish.

I don't think he's a fool at all. I don't see anyone disagreeing that he has very limited political executive experience.

There's a difference between being inept on previous political offices and having no experience in political office. Carson has no experience. Clinton was inept. At least we know what we are getting if Clinton becomes president...I guess.

Ineptitude with Clinton and inexperience with Carson that might lead to ineptitude. What wonderful choices we have.
