No wait, his idea makes complete sense! A guy who is ok with breaking the law that says you cant kill people can certainly be trusted only seek out law abiding merchants for his ammo purchases. He would make sure to call the police on anybody offering to sell him ammo at a price lower than $1000 a round privately!Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostAbout as many as he needed. I doubt he was terribly concerned about the cost of his shooting spree. Credit's a bitch.
Or he could just go to Cabela's or Bass Pro Shops and get the components for the bullets and make them himself. Who knows?

I'm not advocating for an all out gun ban, just a few more restrictions. I'm just sick of people saying I should feel safer when more people are carrying weapons. If they were all like Uncle Ted and Colly Wolly I would feel safer, but there are too many people like this carrying guns out there."In conclusion, let me give a shout-out to dirty sex. Can anyone advocating for stricter gun laws please tell me how tighter laws will protect us from seemingly-law-abiding citizens planning massacre style shootings? I'm pro-gun rights, within reason. I have no problem with the government scrutinizing weapons purchases, but I'm opposed to window dressing laws made as a knee-jerk reaction that don't really provide a measure of safety.
In other words, what reasonable proposals are out there that will actually keep guns out of the hands of those who shouldn't have them?"Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."

exactly!Originally posted by DU Ute View PostBecause of all the poorly trained conceal carry yahoos running around?
If the concealed weapons permit was a serious gun training course, which required routine reclassification and had severe restrictions, training and monitoring I could see where it would be useful.
Sadly, 2/3 rds of the people I know that have a concealed weapons permit, I wouldn't trust protecting a house plant. Many of them flat out scare the beejesus out of me. I think in many states the CWP has the same restrictions and constraints of getting a Blockbuster Membership.
When it's 10 times more difficult getting your driver’s license than it is getting one these permits, that’s a problem.
If there is some good that will come out of this tragedy, hopefully at least lawmakers will think hardly about revamping America's archaic gun laws

Most likely this will continue to be ignored, but if somebody does attempt a serious answer, I will be very interested the proposal.Originally posted by San Juan Sun View PostIn other words, what reasonable proposals are out there that will actually keep guns out of the hands of those who shouldn't have them?I'm like LeBron James.

Two states that need to step up what is required to get a CHL, IMO, are Arizona (no class or anything required) and Utah, as I mentioned perviously. If I lived in either of those state I would be pushing for more class hours, written tests on gun laws and safety, extensive background checks, and a demonstration of safety and proficiency on the range with a gun for CHLs. As mentioned before there has been a lot talk here in Texas dropping reciprocity with Utah which means Texas will no longer recognize their CHL. I am sure a lot of other states would follow Texas in doing the same.Originally posted by Scorcho View Postexactly!

Not one person in that sold out theater shot back... not one.
If that ever happens in a theater I'm in... he better get me with the first shot...
