    TDK shooting in Aurora

Yikes!! Looks like 14 are deAd and a bunch are injured. Scary stuff.

Damn that is scary. I imagine several at first thought it was probably someone just acting out from the movie. Then realizing it's not, getting trampled as you try to escape.

I read that several young kids were injured or maybe killed. As young as 6. What are 6 year old kids doing at a midnight showing of The Dark Knight?

You know how hard it is to get a baby sitter from midnight to 3am?

This could have been prevented if everyone in the theater had guns.

I'd prefer that 6 year olds not have guns.

This could have been prevented if the government had just posted "Theater Marshals" in each of the movie theaters and x-ray machines at the entrances. They could just add a 25% tax on movie tickets to pay for all the government overhead. It is not like movies cost all that much anyway. The government needs to pay each of these victims and/or their families compensation. In addition, given that movie theaters are not safe any more I predict more people will just download the new batman movie off bit torrent and movie theaters will face hard economic times ahead. The government needs to provide bailouts for these so all the valuable movie theater jobs can be saved.

I don't know if they will go that far Uncle Ted, but wearing costumes to movies might be a past time.

I obviously joked in my response to Sooner's trolling effort, but now I'm wondering how this would have played out in Texas. There are at least 4 people in my ward that have carry/conceal licenses and I know they take them everywhere. Sure it wouldn't have stopped the initial shots and maybe it could have escalated further, but my hunch tells me this incident wouldn't have been as bad if a dozen people in the audience had a handgun at their disposal at that minute.

I'm more than open to my hunch being shown to be wrong.

Kind of a morbid thought, but I can't tell you how many times I've sat in a theater and pictured something like this happening. That and church.

                        How sad.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Yes, if a dozen people in the audience had a gun then it is quite possible that at least one of them would have a clean shot at some point.

I have a CHL but have never taken my handgun into a movie or really thought about it. I have always felt relatively safe at my local theater. In light of this shooting I am guessing I will think about it now. Of course, I might just think about going to less movies and just the only ones I really want to see too. The rest I'll just download off the internet.

In a packed theater in suburban houston, I give it a 65% chance that homey would have never made it out of the theater alive. I don't know if that would have had a significant impact on casualties and injureds (particularly since this guy used a bunch of gas, a semi-auto rifle and a shotgun).

Youngest victim was a 3 month old... SOB!!

EDIT: The video dramatizes it at the beginning and at the end informs you the infant is home. I hate when they do that to sensatualize an already horrific event..
