Well...it was a noise complaint at a frat house. Maybe they just got done watching animal house and were afraid of what they might find.

Why do all of these videos include someone in the background screaming "Is he being arrested or is he being detained!" Somehow they think it's going to make a difference in the moment? Or are they capturing it for future generations?

Looks like one cop responded and then called for backup.

A better question is why don't the idiots in the apartment just comply with the cop in the first place? Chances are good they get a warning or a ticket and life goes on.

I didn't ignore you; if memory serves you were in fancy-pants Herradura and I was up in the mountains in Zarcero. I look forward to meeting you some day.

Your memory does not serve you.
I was in a modest abode and you ignored the mails to you while you hid in your rincon.

                        • Council Idaho an hour and a half north of Boise small logging town. If you go to northern Idaho through Boise pass the town. My brother lives there. Bull got out prize angus. Well got hit and people had to be extradited. Called rancher, he bought gun to shoot Bull. I guess cops thought he was going t hit them. He wound up dead and his wife had Heart attack.

Life threats against sheriff. Heard from brother that deputies young. I will give police benefit of doubt as taking life nothing anyone wants to live with. However wonder if anything different could of been done there.

                          • This seems pretty cut and dry:

                            http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/c...124-story.html

Cops are following Laquan Mcdonald after reports of him breaking into cars. He has a knife and is apparently high on PCP. The dashboard cam shows him starting to walk away, and then he gets shot. Even after he is down and still, he is shot again, 16 times in total, all by one cop. He is being charged with first-degree murder.

I think it's indefensible, though I read about a '21-feet rule', meaning that a suspect within 21 feet of a cop can reach him/her before a holstered gun can be removed and used. McDonald certainly seemed within that radius, though the cops already had their guns out.

On top of all this, Chicago is staying true to its corrupted reputation. A nearby Burger King had complete footage of the incident from their surveillance camera. A manager is claiming that after the shooting a cop removed all footage from the tapes...
"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

When I went through the academy, they preached the 21 foot rule, almost to a fault. No doubt the defense will cite the rule.

He was shot 16 times. I couldn't see or hear when all 16 shots were discharged. Seemed like there were probably two groups of shots where I could see smoke. One problem I saw were that it didn't look like he was going after the police with the knife. In the military we use the terms "hostile act" and "hostile intent". I didn't see either from the guy they shot, but I also don't know all the context.

The other problem is 16 shots, including shots after he was already on the ground. So even if they find the initial shots justified, I can't see where 16 shots into the man were justified, or any of the shots while he was on the ground. Before the days of video cameras, he could easily have gotten away with it.

He'll have his day in court to tell his story. But as you say, it seems pretty cut and dry.

Edit: I'm reminded of a Soldier we had who was also a police officer who worked for American Fork. We were up in Alaska building a road on Annette Island, and were sitting around talking after lunch. He brings up that 21 foot rule, but says 210 feet. Everyone was like, whoa, 210 FEET?! How far is that? He then points to something that is about 200 feet away. I just shook my head and walked away.

From what I understand, only 2 shots were fired while he was standing. The other 14 happened when he was already down. And I think the video is cut short; we don't see all the shots being fired.
