    Thanks, wuap.

                • This should be renamed the Brutality Against Wuap Thread.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Please don't start a fight again. Anger is a gift.

I've had some fun yanking chains in this thread but I do not in any way question wuap's goodwill or intent.

I am an incredibly guileless, magnanimous son-of-a-bitch (Tim's met her). You are my friend despite enjoying fresh-water fishing over salt-water angling.

                        • I hate to beat a dead horse, but I can't stop myself from commenting. First, KL is definitely one of if not the smartest person on the board, it's close between her and DDD, which is why he wishes she'd leave. Second, I don't see her exhibiting signs of any condition, but speculating she has Asperger's is way out of line on multiple levels - you should be ashamed of yourself, falafel. Finally, anyone who has met wuap knows he's brilliant, has a huge heart, and he's anything but pompous. He's very passionate, but not at all pompous, and his passion sometimes gets the best of him on issues that elicit an emotional response.

Now, to the subject at hand. It shouldn't surprise any of us that a culture of people who will watch a sporting event, having never played or coached the game but who will nevertheless insist that players "should have made that play" and coaches "are idiots for not seeing that", will second-guess anything they see from a brief clip of video footage. Not surprisingly, a thorough analysis of the video exonerates the cop from tipping the girl over, and shows that her own momentum from fighting him as he tried to grab her and escort her out was what tipped her over. I guess if dragging her across the tile because she refused to stand up is brutality, then he is guilty. Otherwise, a SRO who was well liked and respected by the kids suffered a career-lynching by people who saw 30 seconds of footage from one angle. Unfortunately, the school and the kids are also losers in this incident. Obviously, SRO's need tenure, so they are safe to do their job without the fear of mobs running them off because doing the right thing was unpopular.
