We should care about the federal government trampling on First Amendment rights.

Oh my Goodness! DipShit Don Lemmon who helped orchestrate a protest in a church was arrested. How upsetting.. Pearl-Clutching over 1st amendment rights does not protect you from illegal trespass, disrupting a religious service, unlawful assembly. Or I can go the route of the leftie and proclaim this was a "Hate Crime" perpetrated by him and his ilk.

If only those proclaiming the judge's ruling is not the only path to get an arrest (We have seen this by many left or right administrations.) and recognize what he did was unlawful and the rights of those attending as church service should not have their services turned into a protest..

He cloaked his actions as a journalist but he is not. He is not even employed by a major new agency.. He is essentially a debunked journalist with a social media following/influencer..

I am explaining my lack of empathy for Don Lemon.

But to your point: maybe, maybe not. If so, should be light work for his attorneys.

1st amendment does not make you immune from prosecution for unlawful actions as he did. Tell that to the many protestors who were arrested for their 1st amendment rights.. Unlawful actions, gets you arrested. And entering and assembling in a religious institution has varies degrees of unlawful action..

Don Lemon. This all seems like a lot of political theater on both sides. As for Don Lemon, not the guy I would want as my standard bearer. Going into a church was a stupid move. Why give MAGA the higher ground?
                Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Suppose a journalist teamed up with some folks and entered a bank with them while they robbed it. "But I was just there to document the robbery! That is my 1st amendment right!"

He could have documented it just fine from outside the church. Also, his statements on video prior to entering seemed to clearly indicate he wasn't just "reporting".

I do not like Don Lemon. He is not "my guy." But this development is another action in an increasingly long pattern of over reach and illegality. It should concern people.

Trump wants to drive up housing prices. He doesn't want to lower them for people who didn't work very hard.

Not looking for a fight here but what did he do that was unlawful, as the highlighted statement by itself is obviously false (my wife and I enter and assemble in a religious institution every week). It might have been his recording of the protests, but people record missionary farewells and other meetings occasionally. I haven't seen videos of Lemon's conduct (I've been too busy watching videos of ICE killings and Melania reviews.) and I'm curious what he did beyond going inside the church.

It is a ruse.. He is not a legitimate journalist. The magistrate who denied his arrest said his only saving grace was the fact that he was a journalist. That alone was a copout. He is a debunked shamed journalist with no real credentials but what he says.

No other journalists or new organizations were there. And if they were aware of what was going to happen, they all took a Hard-Pass on reporting on it. So.. either the major media outlets took a hard pass and said No thank you which should tell you the significance for not wishing to report. Or he was in collusion with the protestors (Who were arrested) and was the only "So-called" journalist present and prepared and spoke before, during and after the event. Can you not see the simpleness of this? He clearly was involved in this and cloaked his actions under being a journalist. He has no job as a journalist. He has a YouTube channel now and that is it. So, he is like any other protestor filming even when he "acts" or makes a statement he is there as a journalist. Bullshit. You don't get to stir, bake and eat the cake.. He was a protestor. And like the others who were arrested, so was he. 1st amendment does not protect you from protesting on private property, including churches, mosques, Temples, Synagogues or any other private entity.

This should be least of your concerns on what you consider overreach (Which it is not).. Only when it fits your political views does it matter.

Don Lemon 100% deserved to be arrested. His lawyer and the activist media will refer to him as a former longtime CNN anchor and a “veteran journalist.” They will scream this is an assault on “freedom of the press.” They’ll scream fascism!! This is all garbage.

That Don Lemon was ever a journalist can be debated. But let’s assume he was an honest to goodness journalist at some point, then what’s beyond clear is he abandoned that role and those principles long ago. On the day of the Cities Church raid, footage shows Don Lemon coordinated with far-left agitators, kissed the head of the lead organizer, and told them “thank you for your service.” He then proceeded to deliver live commentary justifying the entire charade, even the children’s tears. He played a very specific, intentional role that day as hype man for the revolution, and he knew it. It was an attack on Christians, it was illegal, and he deserves to be face the consequences like everyone else so that churches remain sacred and set apart.

The specific charges against Don Lemon have not been made public yet, but one possibility is violation of the FACE act.

Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act - Wikipedia

prohibits the following three things: (1) the use of physical force, threat of physical force, or physical obstruction to intentionally injure, intimidate, interfere with or attempt to injure, intimidate or interfere with any person who is obtaining an abortion, (2) the use of physical force, threat of physical force, or physical obstruction to intentionally injure, intimidate, interfere with or attempt to injure, intimidate or interfere with any person who is exercising or trying to exercise their First Amendment right of religious freedom at a place of religious worship, (3) the intentional damage or destruction of a reproductive health care facility or a place of worship.
You can't interfere with first amendment rights at a place of worship, including intimidation or obstruction.

Also, please tell me you're not seriously comparing your voluntary assembly at your place of religion with your fellow congregants with protestors assembling at your place of religion to disrupt/obstruct/intimidate the congregants?
