I put the odds at 50-50 that he was carrying i.d., but given that no one apparently asked I don't think it would have mattered. The feds searched his dead body and it's possible they may have taken it.

It's also interesting that some justify the fed assaults on the two decedents because they were obstructing traffic, even though each can be seen in the final minute of his or her life gently waving oncoming traffic to go around them, which it did. Weak-ass obstruction. If only they had upped their game by, say, blocking the Edmund Pettis Bridge to traffic.

I have zero issue calling someone a socialist if they are a socialist. There is a subgroup with some of their membership in the Democratic Party called the Democratic Socialists of America.
They called themselves that. They fit that criteria. Hillary, Obama, Biden they are not socialists.

There are members of Trump's circle who have previous identified as fascists of various stripes. They continue to do fascistic things and the label applies.

I lol that folks (even Noem) think "He wasn't carrying an ID" is a big gotcha and somehow shows ???? about Pretti? And how does that affect CBP's handling of the situation that led to them pumping Pretti full of bullets as he was facedown in the street? It's like, "Aha! See, he wasn't as awesome as all you people think he was, so it's his fault he got shot. He was breaking the law! There, gotcha!"

I'll give a more nuanced answer in a sec. I mentioned various strains of fascist.
This guy was a holocaust denier who claims to have a "Nazi streak."

A guy I keep pointing to was part of the fascist March in Charlottesville Jack Posebiac has said such wonderful things as:

“Welcome to the end of democracy. We are here to overthrow it completely. We didn’t get all the way there on January 6, but we will endeavor to get rid of it.”

He is an open admirer of Franco and wrote a book if frequently refer to in how disturbing it is, Unhumans, which Vance wrote the forward to.

It's a stretch to call Nick Fuentes part of Trump's inner-circle but he definitely has access. He has repeatedly spoken of his admiration for Hitler, identitied as a Nazi, fascist, Christian Nationalist. Despite being a gay Mexican he is a thought leader and gained acceptance from member of congress, had dinner with Trump etc.

At risk of strong obloquy from you and much of the board, I have reposted that pesky amendment removing all emphasis previously added, except on one word. Once that word is not applicable to any assembly, the protections under the Constition similarly do not apply. That is not to say I agree that Mr. Pretti or Ms. Good deserved one or many bullets being fired into their bodies. I do not. However, if one does not assemble in the manner designated by the Constitution and takes such actions that can be reasonably deemed as not peaceable, those left behind cannot rest on the laurels of that ancient parchment nor use the remaining words in that clause as a cudgel. I'd say it is my 2 cents, but without pennies in circulation, I will have to offer my nickel.
