I was more worried about Ukraine's fate than ours if Trump were elected. It'd be nice to end the war sooner rather than later but that will impossible to do without letting Putin keep the Donbas (Ukrainian for "Sudentenland"). I'm truly puzzled that anyone thinks that would be enough to satisfy the Russian bear. Putin has said that the break-up of the Soviet Union was the biggest geopolitical catastrophe of the 20th Century, and given his previous occupation and skillset, it seems vividly clear that he wants to reunite it, even if most of the former Soviet entities want none of it. I fear he'll play Trump like the proverbial fiddle and make substantial progress toward his goal.Originally posted by falafel View PostComment
